Title: New bow
Post by: Taco280AI on April 26, 2021, 06:28:40 PM
A buddy drew multi season deer so got some interest in getting a bow. I started looking for him and got to thinking, hey... I should get a new bow. Well I only planned on getting a new bow and rest while using other stuff from my old bow. Nope. New bow, rest, stab, wrist sling, quiver, arrows, hard case... waaay more than I intended to spend. I did use my old sight.

But here she is

Will be selling my Bowtech RPM 360, if there's any interest in here I'll post it. Think it's set on 27.5/70# but it's fully adjustable.

I got all excited about your old bow when you said ‘fully adjustable’. The poundage can be adjusted without changing limbs on some bows. Not the 360 though. Bummer.
Your new bow is nice though!

70 pound will easily adjust down to 60.

70 as low as 60 so it is limited, but draw length is adjustable.

I'm really not used to archery, shoulders were getting fatigued at the indoor range. Most pins are very close from the old bow and had a few 2-3" groups at 60 yards as I was getting tired.

My last group was going to be at 50 but stopped after the first shot, had to end on a high note.

I never did try the 31 and am somewhat curious. But at this point I don't want to just in case I like it more.

I'm a 30" draw, but actually went down to the 29" mod, and I was a little more comfortable. I recently dislocated my shoulder trying to boogie board in HI for my 50th, so I'm battling that.  I decided I wanted to go down in Draw Weight, so I ended up with the v3 because of the switch mod technology.  I thought the Hoyt draw cycle was more comfortable, but I could go with the 60# mods down to 55# with the V3 and go up as I feel better/get stronger to hopefully 60# by season and still have the option to go heavier next year if I can handle it.

I shot the EVL 22 and it damn near reinjured my shoulder, that thing was harsh.  I'll bet it is fast though.

I know some of you guys buy a new bow every year. Not sure how you do that but you're making it really hard for those of us that still shoot the same bow we had 10 years ago! I have a hankerin'...

LOVE MY NEW V3 27.5!!!! Bought it down at Archery World in Lacey, also switched from a 7 pin to a 3 pin slider sight!! EXTREMELY HAPPY!!! Ambush green as well!!

The guys down at Archery World were easy to deal with and as always Ryan Black was a huge help!!

Love the results with the V3 27

82 yards just to try. First shot at 80 yards ever with this and my pin was just a guess. Wasn't even going to but my buddy tried first and missed bad, so I had to give him a hard time about it. Of course he was then saying let's see you do it. (Yes we had great vis, nobody else was around, had the whole course to ourselves)

41 yards on the bison, 2 shots

Thanks

Forgot about this thread. Not all my groups are this good of course, but this was my last group of the morning about a week ago. Hadn't used it in about 3 weeks and went to the indoor range.

50 yards

I decided to buy a Matthews Halon 32 yesterday. I've had my Hoyt Turbo Hawk for 11 years. This is certainly a quantum leap up the tech ladder from the Hoyt.

I just bought a Turbo Hawk this year and thought wow compared to my ancient old bow.🤣

When I bought my turbo hawk, it was miles above the reflex I'd owned previously. It's a damn good bow.  If you hit em in the boiler room, the lights go out regardless of which bow you shoot.

You guys think there was a difference in your bows go from a Martin Cougar 50% letoff to a Diamond SB180% letoff. Was like going from a wooden wash board to an electric washer.
