They know gun control is a losing battle (for now).
Pelosi also wants to ensure democrats remain in control of Congress.
To do that, they keep quiet about gun control (to remain in control) until the time is right....
at least, that is my guess.
Nice to see though.

I agree Saylean. I also think that the Pres has ruffled alot of feathers with these bailouts and they are starting to feel some heat.

hmmmmmmmmm not one person on that list from the state of Washington... however, Defazio from Oregon was against it.... thought he was as liberal as they come....
-
Figures, both of my states Dem's voted against it. There would be rioting in the streets if they tried to take anything away lol.
-
7. Marion Berry (D-AR)
Hope this isn't the same Marion Berry that was the crack smokn', possession convicted, prison serving, then re-elected major of Wash. DC?

I don't believe for a second this administration is calling it quits on one of their pet projects. They all admitted that they strongly favor re-instating the ban; except this time they'd like to make it permanent. I think they they are smart enough to try other methods; taxing ammunition or the componets so heavily that it soon becomes too expensive to shoot. I also heard that Obama was talking about ratifying a "treaty with mexico" to ban assult weapons. And a treaty wouldn't require a senate vote. Maybe this is all conspiracy theory, but I really do believe that the fight isn't over.
