Title: New Hunting Pup
Post by: Machias on May 20, 2021, 11:36:54 AM
Meet Reaper, future trapline/coyote decoy dog.  Hopefully in the future coyotes will just refer to him as Grim.   :chuckle:   He is a Heideterrier.  His Dad is an absolute fur missile.  I've had him since the 1st of May and he is already housebroken and crate trained. I believe I have cracked the code on housebreaking a puppy.  Do it in a 16x24 foot cabin.  So easy to keep a constant eye on him.  No accidents at all.  :)  I'm sure someone is thinking, what the heck is a Heideterrier.  It's a relatively new breed from Germany, where they refer to them as Pagan or Heathen Terriers.  Developed in the 1970s, they are not a recognized breed and in fact there is still some various mixing going on to find exactly what they are looking for as the end result, but at this point, most Heide's are part Jagdterrier/Airedale/Bull Terrier.

That is a great looking dog.   How big will he be when full grown?  Estimated weight?  Just curious what size he will end up.

Thanks!  Nope, just a decoy dog and trapline dog.  The breed was developed in Germany in the 1970s, so very young breed and actually still not a recognized breed.  No papers or registration.  I'm really liking him a lot!

He's doing great.  Starting to show me spots where the coyotes have been.  Here he is asleep, after a hard day out with me.   :chuckle: :chuckle:
