My wife drew an early Huckleberry bull moose tag. Turns out my buddy drew the same tag, so they are going to be drawing straws to see who gets to shoot first. :chuckle:

I was on the ONP hunts. I might have some info for the conflicted goat guys. Happy to share what I know which may not be much!
Ping me if interested

Thanks, now I really want to.... No I cant do that! I am married and my wife will miss me. This point system really sucks! I cant afford out of state, and all that I dream about is one of these tags. Mostly the moose! Oh well, someone is gonna have fun. Good luck to all that get drawn! 😊
-
My dad drew Mt Spokane South bull moose. Only took 25 years.... We’re pretty pumped! Sounds like he’ll need to get a Inland Empire timber permit. Looking forward to getting some scouting in.

I think just about any quality deer or elk tag are becoming OIL in this state.
I did some math last year, and even for most of the buck/bull tags one should only expect to draw once every 125 years or so if I remember correctly

Buddies fil drew Selkirk bull tag. Should be fun as we have current info from our hunt two years ago. Congrats to all that drew. Get in shape and make the most of these hunts!

Some people get real lucky. I have a buddy who has drawn a Rocky mt bighorn, Cali bighorn and mt goat tag all in the last 12 yrs or so here in Idaho meanwhile I can’t draw an OIL tag to save my life. Another buddy has drawn rocky sheep and mt goat all in a 5 year span

:yeah: I have 24 points across the board in the OIL and quality categories. I have never drawn an OIL tag (drew an ewe tag a couple years ago) and I have never drawn a quality elk or deer tag. I have max points for MS elk points too as I have never drawn a MS elk tag. I would be happy at this point if I drew one OIL tag in my lifetime (doubtful) and finally drew quality tags because those are turning into OIL tags for me at this point. Luckily, I have drawn a couple of cow, bull and buck deer hunts in the last 10 or so years otherwise I would think I'm on WDFW's do not draw list.

Raffle goat for me! :)

First post went through so that's a good start. I have been reading this forum for the past 10 or so years and really enjoy it. Have wanted to comment several times but not very computer literate. Here is a little about me.
Took my first blacktail buck, a spike, in about 1965. Living near Pine Lake and shot it with a 12ga w/00Buck on the property what is now the City Hall in the ( City of Sammamish ). I bought my first riffle in 1965, a .300Savage Model 99F, for $80.00, no scope, buckhorn sights. Missed my first shot at a nice 3pt near Packwood that same year, Buck fever at it's best!
A 3 1/2 year tour in the Military set me back a bit. My Father asked me if he could "borrow" my .300 and of course i said yes with one provision, That he put a scope on it. Thanks Dad.
Over the years that riffle has been my Go To Gun. With it I have harvested about 25 Mule Deer, 2 Wa Blacktail, A Sitka Blacktail ( Kodiak ) , A Dalls Sheep ( Tok Alaska ) , 2 Pronghorn, a black bear, and several coyote's.
I took my first Elk ( a spike ) near Naselle in about 1980 using my late fathers .348 Winchester model 71.
Drew a quality bull tag for the Teanaway in 1996 and got a raghorn 6pt with a borrowed 30/06.
I drew the 2010 E. WA Raffle tag and got an old, heavy, thick 6x7 Bull with a new 30/06.
I am hoping to take my bull moose with the old .348 if I can get within about 150yds. Will be bringing along my 06 if longer shot is needed.
Will keep you posted. I will try to post some of my pics from past hunts but that might be a work in progress.

Any hangman moose tag holders?

Has any of the successful tag holders received their moose tag and info? I have experienced some mail issues at the house lately so removed my mailbox and went to a PO Box, afraid the tags may have been lost.

I can't help with your question, but I hope this means you drew a moose tag!!!!

Received my Early Huckelberry Moose tag about July 6th.

My wife received a packet about 2 months ago and the tag was in the bottom of the envelope. If you haven't received the packet, I'd call WDFW immediately.

Received my Early Huckelberry Moose tag about July 6th.
My wife and another buddy both drew the same tag. They have some decent bulls on camera, but it's been challenging to scout with how dry it's been. Hopefully you have the area dialed. If not PM me and I can probably help you with a place or two to start.
