Post by: CP on June 17, 2021, 06:10:57 PM
Anyone been out yet for them?

Not this year for us, won't even try.  Spending $50 on gas for a couple 3 pound fish last year was unappealing.

It is open? I thought I saw only 11 opened for salmon. But could have missed it. I know they said it was delayed until after 6/15.

Yeah, it opened on the 15th.  I got one report from a friend, 3 small fish in 4 hours.

ill try and get out during the week, or might boogie down south and chase a king and enjoy the sun.
if you look at everything of $$ to food ratio, youd better quit hunting too  :chuckle:
the little fish are tasty to throw on the grill and hey, the heads backbones are a great start to crab bait.

We'll make at least one trip.  I promised my son to make a trip down there for a PB sanddab and we might as well try for some early coho at the same time.

It's not the best fishery, but it is a fishery.

I haven't been out yet but will get after it at some point.  My key to that fishery is just imagine you're trout fishing.  Would a few 16-20 inchers be an epic day of salmon fishing?  Nope, but it would be a solid day of trout fishing.

Might actually go on Sunday, just remembered it's Father's Day.  A couple times we hit that and then swing into Kingston for ice cream.  There are worse ways to spend a day with my family.

We fished Saturday and Sunday. Found a couple schools and got our four in about two hours Saturday.  Much tougher Sunday. Fished two hours at Jeff Head and two hours on the other side and had only blackmouth to show for it.
