PHOTO OF THE MONTH CONTEST May 2009
Please enter your favorite photo into our photo of the month contest.
COMBO TOPIC THIS MONTH ............. Either Fishing or Turkeys! I decided to combine the two for more interest or variation. We'll see what we come up with for next month. In light of all the bear turd piles lately.......LOL Ok maybe not.
The photo must have been taken by the entrant, but there is NO time limit set to how long ago the picture was taken. If the category happens to include field photos, they can be taken by someone else as long as it is of the entrant themselves.)- The photo must pertain to hunting or fishing or the outdoors in some fashion and it must match with the current months theme.
-Photo size MUST be 800x600 pixels or LESS Most violated rule
-2 entries per contestant are allowed per month. If more than 2 entries are submitted the first two elegible ones will be the ones accepted for the contest.
-Entries must be submitted by midnite of the 26th of the current month in order to qualify for that Months contest.
-Photos of Washington material will receive preference in judging as the winner will be posted on the front of a Washington site.
-Previous Photo of the month entries will not be eligible for this months contest
-The winner of the previous months contest is not eligible for the next months contest.
-Entries will be accepted or rejected as is, meaning the judges will no longer enhance, or alter images. Resizing is legal if you can talk a moderator into doing it for you.
The photos will be evaluated by a panel of Judges made up of all the moderators. The winner (NO TIES) will be announced as soon as we come to a majority decision.
The Winner will have their photo posted on the front page

Here's a spring trout pic. When I was a kid I used to keep my trout in the grass while I fished. They dried up a bit, but they still tasted good for supper. I still love the smell of trout on my hands. Brings back memories of simpler days.

The Toms of Twisp
Taken here in Washington last spring in the Methow, near the Twisp River.
These toms were fighting, or perhaps mock fighting. It was just alot of pushing and shoving, each trying to get the advantage of leverage by getting as firm a hold as possible on the other's beak/head. This went on for quite some time, but they got a bit nervous about me being there, and gradually moved away, back in to the trees.

Outstanding picture Tom. Welcome to the forum. :hello:

Thats a crisp looking photo :o

Thank you, Boneaddict. Thanks, WDFW-SUX. Your interest & comments are appreciated.
It should still look clear & crisp even if shown quite a bit larger, but I didn't want to break the "most violated rule", so I kept it under 800 pixels. Let me know if there's any place here on the forum where it would be appropriate to display at a larger size.
-
Post it in the Turkey forum. We do try to downsize them for the dial up users, and I know what you mean. I shrink all of mine and some are just hammered.
