Got lots to be thankful for. This year my Dad drew quality elk in mountain view, archery tag. My cousin drew quality Entiat archery and I drew late bull moose tag for Alladin unit.
I wanted to put this out there because I know there's a huge resource in this forum and appreciate all the help this site has given me over the years. Plus as I read back through old posts from members I realize it's a great place for people to see what they were thinking at that time and give perspective for where they are now and how the hunts progressed. So at the very least it's going to be a place to share the experience with my family, and give me something to look back on years down the road.
Mt. View Quality Elk is up first. We hunted for 8 years in the top of the lick creek, back when WDFW had their heads not so far up their butts and had OTC cow tags. Spent very little time in mountain view but hunted so close to it that I felt like I knew what the unit had to offer. After our first scouting trip this year I feel a little better about understanding the unit. We have another 6 or 7 cams we still need to put up in the unit, but I wasn't going to kill myself and my dad trying to land cams in deep country while the temps are north of 100. After driving through everything, analyzing the maps, looking at old posts from previous years I realize this is going to be a ton of hard work and fun. I can't wait and I'm jacked for my Dad who's never killed a branch bull.
I think the biggest thing I'd like to use this forum for is to connect with other guys and gals that drew this unit and be able to work together on such an epic opportunity. Trail cam pics coming soon.
Quality Entiat deer Archery- My Cousin Shan drew this unit and we are pumped. I know a couple guys that have drawn in the past and will lean on them along with scouting to get a better idea of what to expect. Also I want to see who else drew this year and be able to chop it up so we aren't stepping on each others toes. Any info here would be awesome as we aren't really sure about the quality potential and what the access is going to look like come end of Nov. I hear the roads are no joke and getting into areas of the unit might be difficult with a foot or more of snow.
Late Alladin Bull Moose hunt. Where do I start? I didn't really ever put much thought to the idea of actually drawing. I've been putting in for 15 years and still can't really imagine it happening. I've dove into as much info as I can with late moose and seems like they are going to be out of the rut, and looking for feed before the big storms come in. I'm going to dedicate the first 2 weeks solid to harvesting a bull with my bow, if it doesn't happen after that, My grandpa's 300 gonna come to play. I haven't shot anything with a gun since I was a kid (other than coyotes) and I would be tickled pink either way, but I know using my bow would be the cherry on top.
Scouting trips all summer and a busy family/ work schedule and these hunts will be here before I know it.
Thanks for reading the post and feel free to share info if you'd like.

I would give Bruce at iciclecreek outfitters a call his operation is right there and he does day hunts and could get back in there if needed we’ve used him a couple times he has some good stock in case the roads get bad

I wouldn’t worry to much about stepping on anyone’s toes on the entiat hunt. It’s a big unit.

A true bonanza!
