OREGON INITIATIVE PETITION 13 PROPOSES TO CRIMINALIZE HUNTING

That is EXACTLY what the Left is trying to do. That's not a conspiracy theory, they're saying it out loud. They no longer want people to provide food for themselves. Everyone is to be dependent on the government for synthetic meat and handouts. Sorry to make this political, but that's really what it boils down to.

cant hunt ,don't need your guns

cant hunt ,don't need your guns
The ultimate goal of these people.

Western Oregon is f cking nuts. Nuke em all...
-
Would not surprise me if factions of WA draft up something similar in the not to distant future. Was going to say Western WA but there are groups of the population in Eastern WA that would sign on to something this crazy as well, especially here in the Methow. It is most definitely not the same climate of reasonable thinking it was 30 years ago.

Should get the federal government to cut off all funds from the federal excise tax for game management the Pitman-Robertson act. Plus any other funds that they get for anything related.
We need to contact our congress people in pro-hunting states and have them kill any funds going to Oregon. Time to hit them in their pocket book. They only get the money if they have hunting and game management programs in their state.
NO HUNTING OR FISHING — NO MONEY

Oregon is becoming more and more detached from reality, unfortunately, especially the Portland area. While I can envision them meeting the signature minimum to get onto the ballot, I still don't see it passing. Nothing would truly surprise me, though...
This is why we need to reach out to friends with a message of responsible resource stewardship and ethical hunting practices. We need to reach "the silent majority" and show them the benefits of having an active, skilled, and engaged hunting public.

Well put, elkboy!

Wow what's next. That's just crazy!
-
Oregon election site says this has qualified for the ballot so they got more than 110,000 petition signatures. Colorado courts threw out a similar initiative. Crazy beyond description.
-
This petition won't go anywhere. Really nothing to worry about.
It also tries to put meat and dairy farms out of business.
The Democrats will all turn against it when they see how much tax revenue they would lose.
It's just being put on by some lunatic.
-
Don't underestimate the insanity and wokeness of the left
-
That is a scary read, and I don't doubt that it has more than a snowballs chance in h... of passing.
-
Sometimes I think some of these initiatives are based on a dare.
-
David Michelson is the guy, both states, very serious. Would be ashamed of Oregon if it gets more than 10%

I agree but don't underestimate how much Democrat politicians like money.
This would cut billions from the Oregon economy.
-
My bad, IP 13 has the 1000 signatures it needs to get permission to collect the 112,000+ by July 2022 to make the fall ballot, 2022.
-
Good news... for now... the backers of Oregon IP 13 have postponed their initiative drive. Must have had trouble gathering the required number of signatures.

No, it's still alive. They've just renamed it IP3. Comments were submitted to Oregon Secretary of State to clarify the misleading wording in May. We're waiting for how SOS makes them change the wording. But the group is going for the next ballot measure. Cattle, dairy, farming, hunting, and fishing organizations are aligned against the IP3 backers in Oregon. We'll see how much SOS makes them change their misleading wording before they go to collect signatures.
https://www.yesonip3.org/
It basically outlaws meat farming, dairy farming, hunting, fishing, etc. and criminalizes most activities. Allowing people to only eat meat if it dies of natural causes. Makes artificial insemination be legally classified as raping an animal. Pathetic. Hence the push to makes Oregon SOS revise the wording so it's not so misleading, and is honest about what this crazy group is trying to do. The group behind IP3 is to the LEFT of PETA. Which is hard to believe, but true.
It's highly likely to get shot down in Oregon. Regardless of what outsiders say about Oregon, even most Democrats are against this insane initiative.
-
These people are insane. And to be clear, this is not the goal of the left. This is the goal of cultish animal rights nuts. There are millions of democrats who hunt, fish, and make a living off farming. Let's not confuse the enemy here. These people are the less than 1% insane, and categorizing them as "the left" only makes them look bigger and more powerful than they actually are. This will go nowhere. Take a deep breath.
-
If this passes I hope they start prosecuting house cats, dogs, weasels, sea lions, seals, otters, sharks, orcas, wolves, mountain lions, bobcats, bears, coyotes, owls, falcons, eagles… etc. if animals need equal “consideration” they should be equally prosecuted.

This sounds outrageous now, but just like a frog in boiling water, I wouldn’t be surprised if we see more and more of this over the next few years, until the dems get their way. After several years of this being proposed on ballots, the corporate media, NFL, and big tech will deem it’s time to pass it and get all the mindless voters to do so. Heck, less than 10 years ago the idea of a man cross-dressing as a woman was still outrageous. Now you can’t even question it. We get the culture we tolerate…
-
Would not be surprised if our well known billionaire is also behind this. He is buying large tracts of farmland to begin planting soybeans for making into fake meat! Maybe it’s time to let Redmond know what kind of neighbor they have! One who want to get rid of red meat!

:yeah:
Kinda like labeling the KKK as representative of everyone on the right.
This is no different than what PETA has been trying to do for as long as I can remember. Thankfully there are plenty of dems that like to fish and eat a good t-bone. Think about it, several of the most popular fisheries anywhere are right next to Seattle and Portland. The most popular restaurants in both cities have menus that revolve around fish and meat. That means the residents want to eat fish and meat. Pike Place Market isn’t famous for tossing tofu. I’d be more worried if they tried to isolate hunting from fishing and ranching.
