Title: First Blood!!!!
Post by: hogsniper on April 28, 2009, 09:26:52 PM: Well the first of the year hit the dirt today!!! A really nice boar!!! Jet black and not too far from the road. I spotted him earlier in the day on my way to look for Mtn. Goats. Here are the pics of him alive and more to come on the ground tomorrow!!! Whole story coming when I wake up also!!! Night all!!!

Post by: hogsniper on April 28, 2009, 09:37:13 PM: I didnt kill him but a hunter off the sight did!! I was headed off the hill to get cell service cus I knew he was hunting today! Well he about ran me off the road while I was leaving him a message!! The bear is in the 200lb range!!! A perfect coat and perfect bear all around!!! Here is a picture of my girlfriend with it on the ground!!!

Well last week me, Jeremy(jerome), Torei(maghunter) set out to see what was going on up on the hill. We walk in several area's covering quite a few miles and decided to give one last road a try! Well we come around a corner and there is a brute eating grass along side the road. Big old block head with a belly about touching the ground. One look through bino's and you could tell he didnt have any ears and was a definate shooter! I tell him to wait and let me get everything on video! Well that cost us a great bear!! The camera doesnt work in Lock Mode and thats where it was with me franticly turning the camera on and off. As the bear is walking broadside I tell torei to shoot. He does and shoots right over the bears back!!! End of that day!!! We did manage to see some great bulls and a couple fuzzy bucks! So since Jeremy is off playing in disney land I gave Torei my number and told him to get ahold of me and we would get out again soon! So yesterday torei calls and said he was going out with a guy that had never been hunting before and was gonna see what it was all about! Just so happens it was my girlfriends birthday and what better present than to go find some billy's in the high country!! Well not really that high but as high as you can get below the snow! On our way up we take some spur roads to check out the grass and see if there is any bear sign yet!!! Well there was no sign until Jenna say's STOP!!! There is a big bear just standing there!!! We back up and sure enough there he is!!! I take some pics and then the old boy decided to just lay down!!! So up the mountain we went to look for goats!!!

Post by: hogsniper on April 29, 2009, 03:02:01 PM: We got up the mountain and spotted 3 goats but were to far up the cliffs to get any closer!!! And of course when taking pics of the bear wouldnt you know it the battery goes dead!!!

So back down the mountain and out to where I can get cell service to see where Torei is at!! I just got into an area I get service and dialed his number!!! All of a sudden some truck comes around a corner about runs me off the road!! I look at the maniac driving and it was him!!! haha Im leaving him a message and we about hit head on!!!! So I turn around and catch up to him! We I get in with him and jenna goes down to get gas in my truck while I go back up the creek draw with torei! We get to where the bear was and after a few minutes we spot him!!! Torei gets down and makes a perfect shot on him! Down he goes! Torei's first bear and a great spring bear for anyone!!!

It was fun to be along for the hunt!! I didnt get to pull the trigger but was just as fun being there and helping someone get a trophy that will be remembered for a long time!!! Now its time for the rest of the spring bears to be found!!!

I figured everyone would be waiting for these so I fig'd I'd do it before I go to bed. Well Justin explained everything exactly like it happened. He probably just told it better than I would have, so I'd have to say thanks to him. Yeah, that was a dandy bear we seen last week. He came blame it on the camera all he wants but regardless, I still missed. I ranged it at about 125 yards the next time I went up there, I was sighted in for 200. That friggin sucked :bash: But really that was the second biggie I seen. The first one I couldn't get a shot off at...tried to sneek my fat ass up on him, but that wasn't happenin.....he bolted out of there. Those both could of been 300 pounders or close to it. Oh well, so then I waited a few days for my return to the hills and then yesterday happened, just like justin said. I can't believe out of all the people I about run off the road....it was him. Now thats freakin crazy. Well here is a few photos for your enjoyment. Good luck to all the hunters out there. And I have to thank everyone for all there help. Justin/Jeremy..You guys are awesome. I was a blast and one I'll never forget, and of course my other buddy that was with me when we got him. His first exerience with hunting. I think I've turned him into a hunter now. Oh yeah, here is a better photo of justin girlfriend with the bear on her birthday...how cool is that.
