Kinda pumped for this hunt. Anyone else draw this tag for November? (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20210813/6664d11894210221a7f3cd3b61e8a095.jpg)

Watch out for the speed goats, bring good glass and make some local friends would be my advice.

Doing a lot of onX work now and will be heading over to start scouting and drive the unit in September.

Been on the site for a long time, used to be a moderator too
. Life got busy and I left for a while. Hoping there is less bickering and negativity these days, my goal is to help people learn and find success in the field. I've shared a lot of information over the years and continue to do so through my website (pnwbowhunting.com), podcasts, seminars, and as a mentor with First Hunt Foundation. I'm kind of a blacktail addict at heart but bowhunting elk will always be my favorite hunt

Sorry, I meant to landowners( introduce yourself and make friends). It helped my friend out a lot👍 Good luck with the tag.

A bunch of your info has definitely helped me be more successful hunting blacktails for sure! Best of luck on your tag.

If I could tie one up to a tree for you I’d do it in a heartbeat. I owe all my blacktail and Roosevelt success to your mentoring, I have the 2nd deer tag out that way and will put some scouting in for you.

Great tag if you have permission on the right private property. Hunting that tag with public property only would be a very tough thing to do! I cut my teeth hunting in that unit. Tough to get access in the best areas. Good luck!🍀

Thanks @brokentrail and @Sundance!

Hello, came across your posting on GMU 284. Did you ever find a decent location to hunt in that area? I got drawn for washtucna anterless hunt and this is one of the areas I will be able to hunt.

Hey Dawg,
Congrats on the draw, and good on you for doing some homework. I do similar internet sleuthing on unfamiliar areas and have certainly found HW to be a treasure trove of good intel.
Checking out his website, B4E looks like a great mentor and R3 advocate but remember, building that wealth of knowledge comes through time, trial, and field experience. Just make sure to give as much as you get on here and don't expect handouts. I've found many members to be generous in sharing intel, but certainly an intro or "about me" doesn't hurt on your first few posts.
Anyway, I'm nearby so PM if you want to link up to shoot muzzy's or have any general hunting questions.
Thanks,
HH

Bow4elk is a busy guy, not sure if he still checks this site regularly. I'll shoot him a text and see what intel he has, I also drew that Washtucna 2nd tag in 2021. Unfortunately I got Covid the week before the hunt in a bad way, ate the tag and was down for nearly a month. From what I remember, there are several PLHO's in the area, some reserve to hunt and others written permission. Limited access for public, but I was told anything with cover and water will hold does. Best of luck
