I am picking up a Browning X-Bolt in 6.5 PRC, and would love to hear some thoughts on what scope to mount on it. Doubt I will be shooting farther than 600 yards, and don't want to break the bank. Something around $800 - $1,000?
Thanks!

Lots of good scopes out there for that price range. I am partial to nightforce and would top it with a SHV 5-20x56 in that price range.
Couple guys on here really like the Zeiss V4 and that would fit the bill too.
Leupold would work as well but I'm not a fan of the their turrets as there a lot of reviews saying they have tracking issues. Some have never experienced those issues and Leupold makes great optics.
You don't need a ton of optics to shoot 600 yards. 3-9, 4-12, etc would work fine.

I put a Ziess conquest V4, 4-16 50 on my xbolt prc and love it...
Wanted to match the capabilities of the rifle and the round with a scope that would hold sub moa group's....

Thanks for the tips, both good scopes and definitely on the list. Have looked on Optics Planet and a few other sites, just need to pull the trigger this weekend!

Optics planet screwed a lot of people over during COVID....proceed with caution. Prior to the pandemic I had great luck with their website......I won't buy from them ever again.
Just a buyer beware.

I put a nightforce NXS 5-22x56 on my 6.5 prc Ridgeline. I really really like it. The NXS is a little more $ but id look at the SHV line too. I like the extra magnification even for 600 yards-ish.

I put the same scope on my daughters savage ultralite. No regrets, yes it heavy but man is it nice and tougher than nails. The added weight on the ultralite takes a little it’s out of the recoil.

I agree. It’s a great weight balance. And the NF is bulletproof! I will be adding a Thunderbeast 7” as soon as it’s released from jail. Will add another 8 ounces. But I’m not worried about it.

Leupold VX5 or VX6….light, clear.

Put a VX3 on the wifes Seekins Havak Element in 6.5 PRC to keep it light. Great little scope.
-
I run a SHV 5-20x56 on my browning pro 6.5 PRC and love the setup.
-
Recently put a NF NX8 2.5-20x50 on a CA Ridgeline 6.5 PRC. Haven’t had it all that long but I think it’s going to workout ok. The NX8’s are a few ounces lighter than the NXS but the there’s no denying they’re bullet proof.

Thanks to all for the responses, looks like a NF might be the ticket. Now, who to order from?

There is another post on here about NF scopes and a dealer that pays your tax and free shipping. Sounds like a great vendor too.

Lots of great scopes at $1000 (originally posters budget) here's a few off the top of my head.
Burris XTR II, Athlons Ares ETR, Leupold VX-5HD, Vortex Razor HD LHT, Nightforce SHV (non illuminated model to stay under a grand).

Can normally find a zeiss conquest v4 for under a grand. I put one on my 270wsm and another on a $200 Thompson center compass in 6.5 creedmoor.

What do you think of the Havak? I am thinking about picking up a pro hunter in 6.5.

Buy from Doug at Camera land NY, free shipping, no tax and most times if you call in hell give you a better deal than advertised.

Its awesome. I'm considering selling my Christensen Arms Ridgeline 270 wsm for another Havak Element in 300 prc. My wifes 6.5prc is barely over 7 lbs with ammo in it.
