The major reason that I have interest in the multi-season tag is to pair the seasons with multiple special draw opportunities. After early June, there is much less reason to buy the tag.
Does anybody know how many people actually bought the tag last year, after the 2nd offer?

I am honestly worried about drawing and burning my points. Like mentioned above, its ridiculous to take the tag after the special hunts deadline. Maybe theres a way to pass and keep my points if I am one of the 128.you don’t lose your points on the second drawing.

Is it a drawing? I thought they went on sale over the counter first come first serve like they do every year??no, they now go to the next in line of not drawn, they started this last year. IMHO it’s a better way to distribute the tags.

Well since I have never drawn a MS elk tag and I am pretty sure I am the top points holder in the state for MS elk, I kind of want to buy one if just given the opportunity. With that being said, I probably will not as I didn't have any fall plans when putting in for the MS tag originally. My wife now has a moose tag, we both also have Palouse buck tags plus ID deer tags, which means I will probably pass on buying it even if I get the email. I'd love to hunt all seasons, but we have our hands full already and I'd rather see someone else put the tag to good use as my fall is pretty booked up already.[/b]
I doubt there will be a 'round 3' since there is no purchase deadline for the leftovers.

Although that is mighty kind of you to let somebody else "put the tag to good use," the system doesn't work that way. If you are one of the 128 lucky winners, and if you don't purchase the tag, then it goes to waste. There is no deadline on purchase.

If I’m drawn I’ll buy it. Originally we were supposed to be in North BC for Moose this October but that got canceled due to needing the vax to get into Canada. Now I find myself with more time to hunt Washington. I applied knowing I would most likely only get points.It sucks but good for you for standing up to the vax! I hope you draw a multi tag!

Kinda strange the reasoning of have a “2nd draw” for elk - so there’s not a pile up of people at the counter do to COVID but multi season deer is still go to the counter and try to get a tag
Demand is much less for the deer tags, that's why.

but so did the longview weyehouser and Aberdeen permits and those went in seconds who knows what's going to happen im trying to get deer and if i draw elk heck yeah im buying it ill take every chance i can get to harvest in insleington

Last year multi season deer tags lasted hours. No telling what it will be like this year.
insert eat crow icon! interesting, didn't know that. 100% online must have helped that. People must hate standing in line at license dealers enough to not want to deal with that.
I didn't even apply for multi deer last year, but all the years prior I could get them well after they went available.

Why are the 128 left over multi season elk tags given away in sequential order to the people who got drawn next in line, but the 2800 left over deer tags can be bought online or at an authorized WDFW dealer?? Don’t get it, why wouldn’t it be the same either way for both species?
Prior to Covid, deer multi tags were available days, if not weeks after they were released.
For elk, there would be line ups of a lot of people, well before the release time, hoping to get the tag. They would sell out in minutes/hours depending on the store and system that day.
But i'm sure there is some type of manual work to go down in sequential order of the draw, send emails, post to their account, etc and that is manageable for 128.
But to do that for 2800, is out of the question!

Its an East side cow tag... We know the area very well and have been consistently successful for the past 20 years... The reason why its a tough call

They did not put a time limit on when you have to buy it so looks like the tag stops with you whether you buy it or not. Sure wish I would’ve got an email today I definitely would’ve been buying it, at least I was one of the lucky few that got through to get the multi season deer
