My atv was stolen off a dirt road in blewitt pass tonight. It is a red 1999 Polaris sportsman has saddle bags and a gun rack. Left rear tire is brand new. Just put a bunch of money into it. If you see anything please let me know or report it thanks.
-
Another pic
-
I hope you find it and the thieves.....
-
What general area of blewit pass, kittitas side or chelan county side? Lots of buddies live on the chelan county side so I will put the word out.
-
I have property on the liberty side of the pass. I will let my son know to keep an eye out on the trails. I assume you left it parked to go hunting and gone when you returned? Was the key in it or should we expect to see some ignition damage? This crap pisses me off, especially when it is close to home
-
Having just been ripped off of some stuff myself, I feel your pain.
.
Seriously investigating small gps trackers to install on anything I buy of value in the future.
.
There has to be something out there...
.
Police are no help, but if I knew where my stuff was, they might actually be concerned.
.
They better show up before I do...

Thieves suck!!! Officers are not that interested in property crimes now days and I can't say I blame them given the current state of affairs. Doesn't mean I agree with the lack of support...but I understand how limited the resource is and little backing they have from their elected officials. Actual police work is not longer what it use to be.
You may remember this spring I had a thread about my sisters property....literally thousands, tens of thousands of dollars worth of stuff stolen......crickets from the cops after the quick investigation. Nothing recovered.....quad, tractor, tools, etc. :bash: :bash: :bash: :bash:
I really hope you find your quad....but the reality is, you wont. It has been dumped somewhere, probably destroyed or it is being modified and sold as we speak. Hopefully I am wrong....and I will spread the word.

It was on the Kittitas side, off one of the 4 wheel drive roads on mill creek to be specific. Still have the key, not sure if old Polaris have a universal key but they got it started somehow.
-
We will keep an eye out for it.
Man I hate tweakers. That would’ve been a real bad situation if someone walked up on that in the process coming back from a Bear Hunt. What the hell are these people thinking. Is it really worth taking a 180 grain bullet to the chest over somebody’s four wheeler. I see someone coming down the trail on my four wheeler it’s going to be a standoff and either he’s going to stop or he’s getting shot in the face as he runs me over

:yeah:
As for those who say you'll ruin your life over a fourwheeler. Dead men tell no tales...
-
Any more info.....
Like how long did you leave it.
Is this a public road or closed road where ATV is not allowed
Did you search the area well.
Is this a spot where they can just back up to it.
I ask cause this ,cause some hunters can get pretty upset.
Thieves will load it up and take it.
Another hunter may have pushed it off a cliff somewhere.
Not that it's right, but may help you find it.

Yep I have a gun and a shovel and am expert in using Both and what doesn't get covered carrion eaters will take care of.

It was left between 5pm - 8pm there were clear tracks where it turned around and peeled out. My buddy’s atv was parked next to it and un-touched his is new and might be harder to steal I don’t know. It was on a clearly marked 4wheel drive road. Would be very difficult to load into a truck where it was at. Very possible it was dumped up there after a joy ride. Or they road it out and loaded it up I’m not sure

Getting bad when owners have to install a battery disconnect on 4 wheelers and side by sides

Sorry for 20 questions
But ya that sucks a$$.

Makes my blood boil for you! I have a '07, (which is new to me this year after not having a wheeler for 15 years) and having it jacked is the last thing I think about when in the hills in Central Wa. This really disappoints me, I will keep an eye out for sure!

Had a burglary some years ago and through a strange series of events found some of the booty. Took three days of pleading to get the police to go so I could get it back. I am certain it is much worse now. Be careful out there
-
Definitely a scumbag move
My buddy used to have property near Liberty
They came on the gated private ground
Swiped all kinds of stuff
Got in the rv that was parked there
TP towels cleaning supplies batteries and propane tanks
Sad

…….. oh to catch these scum in the act……
-
Giving this a bump with a new season of hunters in the woods coming up. The most identify feature is we put in a manual fan switch under the fuel switch. If someone finds it or sees it id give them a cash reward, i unfortunately cannot afford a replacement and its put a damper on my hunting season. Thanks to those on the look out
-
Bumping because I wish I still had it. there is a manual fan switch on the left hand side. Definitely not a factory thing, please keep an eye out.
-
I'll keep a look out. Still!
-
We are still keeping an eye out for it. I took a screenshot of the picture so I have it for quick reference if I do ever see it on the trail. Man I hate thieves, hopefully they get what’s coming to them one day
-
I think the only way this stops is if there's enough bait to bring them out, catch in the act, then have a good talk with them. They obviously don't care about law enforcement, with the lack of, or the current court systems that favor criminals.
-
Anyone ever attached one of those tracking devices to their property? If so what kind?

What kind of talk ,we talkin.
Train station
Behind the hay shed
Trip down the gravel road
Or just a good old fashioned punch in the front teeth, you know something there not gonna forget for awhile. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

I haven't tried any of the trackers but would seriously consider it if I had an ATV.

Pretty cheap but you would have to recharge the battery on this one often. Knowing me I would try to wire it to the vehicle's power.

Wow thats not expensive at all.
I wonder how many of those are on my work rig that my wife has on there.🤔

$20 a month on top of the purchase price. Might be better options, that's just the one I saw.
There are other trackers that use bluetooth but you would obviously have to be pretty close to it.
If they were only being stolen when used it wouldn't be bad to pay for a month during hunting season but it sounds like a bunch disappear out of back yards so you would have to pay all year.

Looks like a sound investment,if your gonna be away from your ATV for hours and leaving it.

The geofencing is a nice option. You set the area, and it alerts (texts) you if your item moves outside of that location. I know a lot of guys are putting GPS locaters on dual sport bikes, sawmills on trailers etc as they are highly targeted items.
-
You guys don’t think thieves know about these tracking things ???? Had an rzr stolen out of my toy hauler signal
Was dead police told me they probably disconnected the battery and or looked for the device which was so small . Best advice to anyone is have insurance cost barely anything for my rzr , kids atv and there rzr like 20$ for all of them. Best thing is to have insurance as like mentioned above lack of law enforcement to do anything as they consider this as not high priority and have good insurance it sucks but that’s a fact if they find a way they’ll take it

SOrry to hear. When I had atv I used a camo cover parked in the brush/trees to hide it. Also had a combo cable lock to chain it to tree if I felt the need. Just ideas for others to use. :dunno:
