Here we go, It's getting to be that time again. The bulls are getting a bit "twitchy", with many of them leaving the security of their remote bachelor pads to go see what the gals have been up to this past year. To all of you who are grabbing their bow and departing for the local or distant September elk woods, I wish you all safe travels and the best of luck as you attempt to bring an elk home for dinner over the next four weeks. I'll be pulling out a week from this Saturday, getting a bit twitchy myself.

We were down in NE Oregon for the opener for a few days. Only saw a handful of elk and they weren't vocal yet. Heading back down in a few weeks to hopefully fill a tag and get some elk in the freezer.
