Bet you haven't heard that said to many times before but, sitting there in the tree stand this morning and swore a herd of cattle were coming through the woods, ended up with between 25 and 30 whitetail does and fawns come bounding out the edge of the woods, can you imagine how hard it is to not move so as to not spook the entire herd with that many sets of eyes within 25 yards of you? Does and fawns everywhere then 20 minutes later a dozen mulie does and fawns show up one wearing a tracking collar

Sounds like an awesome morning!

Jingles you think the fires pushed them all down into the valley? My mom was telling me she saw more deer down low than she has seen in years and years last weekend. That was up in 231 though

Some might be fire refugees this is in 234.and not sure the fires would if had that much influence on the whitetails Ithink these are probably resident deer as the area I am in is probably overlooked by most as total acreage is maybe 200 acres at most.

Only Jingles and a couple of other Methow Valley old-timers know where it is. It could be part of the secret mule deer migration route..............

Sounds like a fun morning, Jingles.

Ok my bad blame it on being up til 11 last night then back up at 330 this morning 224 .
Yea it was a kinda fun morning was surprised so many of the fawns still had so many spots and the number of twins was kinda surprising also. Just wish the buck that caused all the rubs last year would show up.

Hopefully you catch a mule deer buck on his summer pattern. Sure is fun when there are a lot of deer in the woods to watch.
