Here is the second in a series. Series II and Series III are pretty much related as thy were happening in the same place. I was slipping along a skid trail and ran into this fellow. The doe was wilder than he, but wher she went, he did. We were right on a ridgeline, so the deer went over and I slipped around. He was busy with his doe and another two point that was relentlessly bugging them. I kept creeping closer, trying to be careful not to spook the doe. the bucks I didn't care about. Then I spotted a big buck down below me with his own does and spike bothering him. I got to watch these guys for some time. Unfortunately the light sucked as it always does, and I had my monopod instead of my tripod. I took a myriad of shots of the upper buck and was really enjoying the show. He would run the two point down the hill, then that buck would run him back. He was in lala land. I thought I had some great pics o the big buck below, but many turned out blurry. DANG! I posted a pic of him over in the photography tips thread. I had a whole ple of blurred images. Use your tripod, not the monopod I guess would be my advice. It was interesting when the smaller bucks doe got mixed up with the bigger bucks doe. He managed to swing in, grab her like a cutting horse as the big guy tried to nail his a$$. I wish I had a video instead of the still. It was a great show. I moved on in search of bigger bucks as I "thought" I had some real quality shots. Here is the buck for Buck Series II. No excuses, but my images are being really warped as I compress them down from 3500 pixels down to 800. I'll see what I can do, with my future images, but I have spent alot of time uploading these (dial up) to my photbucket, so will paste them into here for this thread.

NE corner(Republic) bucks.
-
Nice shooten pard, you stayed with them quite a while :)
-
Nice bucks, wish I could find something like that while hunting. :chuckle:
-
Neat looking buck for sure, is he a 2 on the one side, not counting the eyeguard.
-
It was fun Dad, and to not ever spook them, I just backed away and left them doing their thing. Hey Ridge, he was a big two on that side. Wouldn't have scored worth beans, but still a cool buck. I enjoyed listening to the grunts and the doe talking as well.

I love the coloring on those antlers. The muleys where I hunt (St. Andrews unit) have much more grayish white antlers. I love those brownish antlers. Great pics, keep'em coming. By the way what kind of camera are you using?
-
I am running two cameras right now, the Panasonic Lumix FZ10 (I have it working again) and its "Replacement" the Panasonic Lumix FZ18. I also use a regular 35mm Canon A2E with a fixed 400mm lens. Its a hog to carry around though.
