Title: Last several nights.
Post by: STARVATION on September 29, 2021, 07:29:38 AM
The wolves are howling out behind the house. Drove from one end of the ranch to the other and back and for the first time in thirty years did not see a single deer. 156 dead deer from blue tongue in the city of Colville, I've found six here. Starting to wonder if we will have a Whitetail population in a few years. Appears that it is all working out the way the Department of predator propagation wants it to. :( :

That is not good to hear. Been hunting up your way since I was a little kid and have watched the ebb and flow of the deer population.

The perfect storm. Animal rights groups are celebrating spread of wolves and the downfall of ungulates which will herald further restrictions on hunting. It took conservationists 100 years to bring back wildlife populations to abundance and animal rights activists 30 years to destroy them again.

Found two more dead does, likely from blue tongue.
Talked to a bow hunter who on opening morning of the elk season who called two wolves in with a bugle. He said they would not run off even after standing up and yelling at them.

:yeah:.....Yes sir, I said in another thread that by the time my 3 year old grandson is 25 hunting will only be for the elites, two reasons, game will be rare and so will gun ownership, folks who hunt will do so by special permits handed out by the government and those folks will already be holding special permits that allows them to own a gun. Hope I'm wrong as wrong can be.

Which likely means a bumper crop of coyote next year... folks might need to not pass up knocking them down, even into the spring.

SPRING? Time to alter Obamas phrase "See something say something" to See some coyotes shoot some coyotes

I checked on blue tongue? What I read it runs in a five year cycle and has a 25% death rate. The meat can be consumed,  but I would pass it up..
It is not transferable to humans.
As with any sickly looking animal I would pass on butchering it.

I live about 3 miles below OP. Had 4 of them on the hillside the other day, called 2 in. Unfortunately I only removed one of them.

I haven't seen 1 Blue Tongue deer eaten by coyotes. They could be killing the fawns left abandoned.

BINGO!!!!!!!
No laps for you.
But ya that's what happened around our place.
Some areas are hit harder than others.
Seen a yote last nite in a few fields where we are evening hunting WT .
Private property so he just got looked at with the bino.

On our drive up from Wenatchee to Colville last weekend after dark, we saw a lot of deer in the fields between Hunters and Addy. Plenty of groups of 5+ deer so that made us feel a little better about things.  Did also see a big herd of elk with a few bulls in it outside Fruitland which was cool.

Twenty years ago I would head down in the evening to bale hay at night, not five deer in a field but five hundred. Per field. Four primary fields of forty to one hundred twenty acres. Sometimes I wondered how in the hell I put up as much hay as I did. Last year the best count was one hundred deer from the front door to the other end of the ranch, about five miles. This year it's too damn depressing to count. The rule around here is if it eats meat and it's not me it gets shot. Good luck hunting...........elsewhere. Take care, Duane

So we all agree the coyotes are part of the problem.  How many will take up coyote hunting like we do deer or elk hunting?  Coyotes are open year round and we could put a serious dent in their population.

I dont know the source of that info but have read tons and tons of articles and dont recall any of them saying its cyclical or anything about a death rate in terms of a percentage.

When conditions are right, it happens.  This time lots and lots of deer died and in terms of infected then survive, more than 25% die from my observation.  If its 25% of the deer get the disease, that could only be known in a controlled environment which in my opinion would not translate well to wild free range animals.   :twocents:

That's not the first time I've heard about 100's of deer in the fields at night.
Definitely not what is was or has been even before bluetongue.

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

Socialism/communism has absolutely nothing to do with uplifting those at he bottom of the pyramid.  It is designed to use those people to advance the concentration of unlimited power within the ruling class.  As for hunting, it will be reserved for politicians and the politically connected i.e. those who contribute to maintaining the ruling dynamic.  It is that with every aspect of life under those regimes, it is systemic and the hell of it is the idiots supply the bodies needed to achieve critical mass before the consolidation of power takes place as this plays out are lead to think that they will become empowered by this brand of fundamental change or build back better will supply the bodies that eventually document that these schemes all eventually play out in genocide.

The history of the 20th century is in and the evidence of what takes place EACH & EVERY time totalitarian regimes are able to achieve critical mass and consolidate power then implement their political philosophy is unequivocal.  It always and without exception results in increased innocent human suffering, misery and death and ends in massively increased innocent human suffering, misery and death.  That accounts for the "useful idiots" and what their roll will be.  Bonhoffer examined this dynamic while sitting in a concentration camp prior to being hanged.
You can get started right here and in under six minutes get an introduction

As for the "true believers:"  They are the ones who have been inculcated with a sense of envy and the resentment that stems from having envy elevated from being among the very most destructive of human failings to being a virtue.  This envy and resentment is harnessed and used by the leaders to recruit the movement's foot soldiers from.  This is the source population that BLM/ANTIFA activists are recruited from.  While the best Constitutionalists have to offer the oppressor class, both individually and collectively, is pity, but most often contempt, the movement's foot soldiers envy those currently in the oppressor class and desire to replace them.  It will not happen to any degree, they are being used by those who have the reins of power may allow them to live out their dreams of subjugating others vicariously by not being recognized as among those who are not at the bottom of society, but how they live their lives will be dictated from on high.

If you are not among the ruling elites or have connections there will be no hunting for you.  Period.  Full stop.  In fact, if you don't submit to taking their injections you won't be able to participate in any aspect of society whatsoever.
