I was at around 10 yards before this guy jumped up. He wasn’t shy, I snapped a few pictures before he wandered off.

About 5 or 6 years ago I had a 2-point that refused to quit tormenting me day after day as I wandered around the desert during the late archery season looking for a legal shooter.
I half expected him to be leaning against my truck at the end of each day to ask me how my hunt went.
Cool picture by the way. Thanks for sharing.

I swear with that third point their IQ doubles if not triples.
I got to about 20 yards from two very similar ones last weekend. They finally did figure out they should be worried about me and hid behind a tree. As in, ran 10 yards, put their heads behind a pine so they couldn't see me. Then they would lean around the tree and look at me and duck back. Pretty sneaky except their entire bodies were visible the whole time.
