Title: Yale late muzzy cow elk.........?
Post by: Dan-o on October 28, 2021, 10:28:41 PM: So, my hunting partner got a call today from WDFW and was offered a 2nd chance Yale muzzy cow tag.

Looks like we'll be down there late nov/early dec.

It's not a big unit. Should be fun hunting down there that time of year.

And yep.................... We've never been in the unit. :-)

I think I'll be able to go scout a few day before it opens.

And yes, I a looking for help/pointers.

For the record; I am willing to accept detailed directions. 8)

I had that tag 5 years ago and I parked at the saddle dam locked gate hiked in the dark and wait, there is a local herd that will be running around the saddle rec area. I shot mine out of the big field on the left. If there are bull hunters in there same time you better team up because it can turn south fast when people are trying to sneak up on the same herd.

Saddle Dam is on Yale Reservoir inside of the Yale unit. Pretty sure you're referring to Merwin Reservoir. You are correct about the boundary change.
