Camp set up in the dark last night. 15 year old has turned into a pro at setting up the wall tent. Bucks are not straying to far from the does. Saw a nasty little 3 point whitetail with big brow tines on the way out tonight hot on a doe. Watched this 3 point for a bit. We will see what tomorrow brings.
-
Keep the updates coming for those thousands of us unable to draw a late mule deer tag in this state.
-
Good luck! that was an awesome hunt for me in '13
-
Knock down a nice one!
-
Lots of fog last two days. Passed on a nice heavy three point just wider then his ears with eye guards yesterday. Saw a tall 3 x 4 and some other smaller bucks rutting hard. Today went exploring the northwest side, got above the fog just no deer sign. Beautiful country though!! Told the boy let’s turn back and head to where we have seen deer and do some hiking around the back side of them. Bumped some does, climbed one steep sucker. So today was sorta a bust, got tomorrow figure out we think. Have met some pretty sweet other tag holders over here! The guys working the Ace hardware awesome customer service (camp stove needed parts) and they had a decent selection of ammo. Gas station next door unprofessional lil feller, no need to even buy tp there!

Getting closer

T bones for dinner.

Closer is good! Got a week left to find the right one!! Best of luck!

Looks like an HVAC guy put the stove together.

Kni stove. That's a good stove. I have a Packer style for my smaller tent.

Being a local can tell you those da-_ hikers are everywhere along with their dogs they let run loose.
-
Today’s photo. Also ignorance on my part, how do I correct the photos I post so that they don’t end up sideways?
-
Assuming you got bailed out?
:chuckle:

Hopefully the officer was just telling you where to go.

Like 20 years since I’ve gotten pulled over for no mud flaps. Got talking hunting and diesel trucks and the young fella gave me a warning.

Also all the bikers. They are on all the trails you would think are just for hunting on.

This is the very reason I bought my own property. So sad seeing the Methow getting turned into dog walking areas on WDFW lands. The land our licenses pay for suddenly becomes open for everyone's use even though they don't contribute. Most of them don't even have a Discover Pass that is required by hunters. They let their dogs run off leash, they run and jump on you while your trying to hunt. The owners are dressed in dark clothing but yet we have to wear hunter orange. :bash: :bash: :bash: Sorry for the rant just a good area destroyed for hunting.

You’re absolutely right
-
Not to mention the stress they put on the deer herd while they are attempting to winter.
-
Great to see another late tag thread getting swamped with negativity. Man this forum is great.
-
The day I killed my buck with this tag I saw tons of people hiking, walking dogs and riding bikes. I don’t think it really effected my hunt at all. I’d love to have another crack at this hunt someday, good luck. For what it’s worth I helped another tag holder a few years back by sharing my experiences and texting back and forth about what he was seeing or not. He was starting to get a little discouraged, but scored a nice one right near the end. Stay the course

Are you referring to getting pulled over for no mud flaps?
I'm positive the tag holder and his son are having the time of their life.
Send us more pics JH.

Wait a minute, it's illegal to drive without mud flaps? What's the law on that one? How do you own/drive an offroad vehicle (they snapped right off of my Toyota Tacoma one of my first offroading trips)
-
Tires have to be covered to centerline of axle.

Heck yeah!!! Passed on some nice bucks. One on the second morning that should of went after. Watch him most of the day. I believe someone finally went after him. The heavy four my boy got pictures of got to meet the man that got him cool dude. Met some new friends. All the other tag holders where cool, heck even the puffy coat wearing Subaru drivers waved. Now headed out for home, shower then turn and burn for Idaho whitetails!!
