Haven’t seen a thread posted this year for whitetail rut activity observations so I figured I’d start one.
-
Saw a few chasing does this morning in 121, but hard to find a place to park on state or open land. Way more hunters than usual, suspect the weekend will be a zoo. Still not what I'd call full rut activity.

:bash: torn between trying a very busy spot where I know there were doe in the early season or a little more seclusion but not nearly as much doe activity....

Personally, I'd choose quality over quantity.

I live in 127 and watch deer daily out window , young bucks are out harassing the older ones are still at night with a little interest . I have a cam in 124 that’s the same thing young ones harassing and big ones at night.
-
Young one came through on a mission this am, no doe coop yet
-
I was out in 113 last weekend and Wednesday/Thursday very little activity still.
-
Yesterday in 121, I saw 3 spots that a buck was scraping and I got one of those on a trail cam.

Not much of a chance to see through windows in the fog but did catch a hard chasin 8pt big enough body, maybe average horn, but no matter, lost him in the fog.
-
Saw 3 small bucks this evening with the first rut activity I’ve seen. Just minor chasing and checking does.
-
This guy was chasing a doe, grunting and running around crazy on the 7 th. 121
-
Several groups of does today with no bucks. Saw a couple small bucks cruising solo and a few fresh rubs.
-

Good- some are alive! I saw a 3x3 buck with four does on the Washington side of the line- the future of the herd, I think- must be a happy 3x3 if he hasn't been run off!

Definite fawns on or around June 10, 2022. Normal timing
-
Selkirk 113, had daylight bucks on cam Monday 11/22 and Tuesday 11/23. one was 30 min after a couple does went through. unfortunately Tuesday night had wolves come through as well. :bash:
-
I didn’t go this morning. Probably should have, as I was awake. :dunno:
-
Anyone still seeing rutting activity? Or is it to late
-
I'm seeing bucks walking around with their nose to the ground during daylight around my house. they're still cruising around.
-
The few I see are active
-
Retrieved my trail cams yesterday and it appears the rut really turned on in our neck of the woods just a few days ago. Prior to the 25th we saw very little activity. The 26 and 27 had the bucks really showing up and chasing. It's been a weird year with warmer than usual weather for the time.
-
Definite drop in activity last couple of days in 127 at my house . 124 where I have a cam has also slowed.
-
In the part of 121 I'm in the 25/26th were crazy with rut activity. I had a magic doe at 2 of my spots and she was towing a bunch of bucks around. Of course I didn't hunt either of those days. Yesterday was SLOW at all my locations.
-
Heavy in 105 leading up to and thru Thanksgiving. Not sure what the rain and warmer weather will do.
-
Found a couple hot does tonight.
-
Buck shadowing a doe today, did not stick with it long enough for a complete report
