I want to make something known that has been passed along to me that is very important information that the right people can use to make our voice heard and we each have a voice. So, let's do all we can while we can before our rights are gone.
I learned today for a highly reliable source that Koontz and Smith while sitting on the commission and voting our hunts away have NOT BEEN CONFIRMED. They can still be taken off the commission by not being confirmed. I was asked to share this info with the community.
That means we still have a chance to get them out and fill the seats with someone other than anti hunters who will not listen to the science and trust that their own bio's can make the right decisions and listen to the science and fact's other then political goals.
In the confirmation process that has not happened yet. There is a few people that can help to make sure this does not happen to my understanding.
Senator Kevin Van De Wege from Sequim is one of these people. His email is kevin.vandewege@leg.wa.gov.
Please take the time to write him in regard to Koontz and Smith and ask that he stop the confirmation of these two and ask that he gets people that have our wildlife and are rights on their mind. Also ask that he put effort into filling the last seat that would have kept our spring bear hunts from being taken away. This seat to my understanding is an eastern Washington seat. It would greatly help our chances to keep our rights moving forward so that these ties that ignore science and lock things up so we can't have our season don't happen.
I hope you can all take a minute and fight for our future. This blow is just one of many to comes if we don't stand up to this!

I received a call from one of my reps office on Tuesday. I posted info on what he said in the other two spring bear threads. I will keep emailing and expand my list of recipients as well. Time to be a squeaky wheel and not just say "what will be will be."

Trying to think of an organization that specifically represents the interests of Washington hunters. One that has a fair amount of members and speaks political language (translation: makes campaign contributions and sways it's members to vote one way or another). That's what it takes to get anything accomplished. I can sure think of several anti hunting groups that know how to talk politics. Until we get organized and quit spending most of our time arguing amongst ourselves we're just a disorganized bunch of complainers who are easily disregarded.

One of our members here is in the running firnthe eastern WA seat. His name is Rylan and believe he goes by HDD or something like that here. He is going to be speaking TONIGHT on hunt fish northwest broadcast. He is the one we want on the commission! Let's get behind him, and push as hard as we can to get him there. Not sure if we can post links here but I know of Facebook they are doing a live broadcast tonight with Rylan.fill us in. Why is Rylan our guy? I will add that he's NOT your typical attorney. This coming from a guy who is retired LEO and never ever in a million years thought he'd be friends with one. He's become a truly great friend through the years.

MM - thanks for the support! Like most of you, I find the direction of fish and wildlife management in WA concerning. I'm just trying to do something to help right the ship. I'm more than happy to talk issues, positions, or just shoot the breeze if anyone is interested.

One application was explainable for not needing a response since a Commissioner was appointed in that same application pool from Asotin County thus rendering me ineligible. I have a current application submitted again with no feedback. Obviously the selection process is as much of a mystery to me as it is to many on here. Todd Johnston, Clarkston, WA.

I don't know Todd personally but one of my good friends hunts with him often. And from what I know Todd hunts a ton and would be a great person to support if there was a way to support someone. Find this interesting especially after listening to Duane at FishHuntNW with what has been happening or not happening??? I'm with Carp WE need to do more before all is gone.....
