Lady, tell the rest of the story!
There are a lot more quirky close encounters with wild animals than many people realize, especially if the hunter gets into the thick brush with the critters. If I told some of mine here, I’d be called a liar, as I discovered soon after I joined here, when I told of some bear encounters.
I’ve been within touching distance of two deer while hunting, one a mule deer doe and one a blacktail spike. Then there was the young bull moose I was chasing and didn’t realize that he had stopped one step into a wall of brush...

I read a paperback years ago, I think the author's name is Tom Brown but not positive. He wrote about him and a friend when they were kids and would sneak up on critters and give 'em a slap. He ended up being a tracker for law enforcement and tracking the bad guys down when they would head for the tall timber. Can't remember the name of the book but it was a good read.

Deer are nothing, bear are more fun

Deer are easy if a leg is caught in a fence, bears not so much, too quick for me!!!

i believe it on orcas island.
had a few deer walk into a house i was in...they're hand fed pets up there

Those deer look a tad big for Orcas. This is my buddy's trophy ML deer from up there last year, along with all of the meat we were able to get off of it.
Not that I'd ever flip him s*** for it...

I witnessed my father sneak in on a small buck during archery season in the mid 90’s. It took him about 2 hours but he got close enough to tap it on the butt with an arrow.

Soo I REALLY did that on an orcas Sound side field, looking for something worthy,
Now I see That dude/gal had petted them, BUT please don't feed them! :bash:
These are wild deer. not pets! :hello: :IBCOOL: I did sneak up on this Button head! With My .280!
