Taking the boy over this week to try and fill his youth doe tag in the Desert Unit. Late December mule deer hunting is new for me. Any suggestions with this cold spell and some snow coming in?

Should be a fun hunt.
Enjoy the time with your son.

Dress warm, I would imagine it will be pretty easy to find a doe this time of year. They should be up and moving all day long.

Son got it done last week. Appreciate the messages sent that helped ensure success!

Lets see a grip n grin with his deer.

Congrats.

Very fun hunt. Me and my grandson went and got his first deer in Desert unit on December 23rd.

Good job Grandpa!
I love the basin when the grasses start to green after fall rains through to June when things brown off in the heat. Nothing like the smell of sage on your clothes.
