We have leased thousands more acres for deer and antelope hunting and much of this property has prairie dogs that need thinned. If you've done much prairie dog shooting you probably know the difference between public land shooting and going shooting on private ranches where the dogs haven't been shot at very much. We recommend bringing at least 500 rounds of ammo per day and sometimes guys who bring 1000 rounds per day still run out.
We are planning our shooting season from late May to early July. Due to wildfire danger in recent years most landowners don't want us shooting too far into July. If you are going to drive all the way to eastern Montana (Miles City area) you might as well go where the prairie dog shooting is worth the drive!
MT Prairie Dog Shooting
2 Hunters Minimum
1 Day ....... $500 per person
2 Days ..... $950 per person
3 Days ... $1350 per person

The farm I worked on in Montana we used to push back the edges of the ‘town’ on the property a couple times a year and use it for checking/verifying hunting rifles and pistols.
One of the most fun times was trying with a black powder hand gun. The sound would get there before the projectile!

We still have plenty of room this summer, this is quality shooting, these are towns that have not been shot out by public access hunters, there's a huge difference in the amount of shooting you will do!

We are hunting near Miles City, that's about 2 to 2.5 hours east of Billings.

Is there a fall season?
There is no season and they do come out on warm days in the winter. But due to fire concerns we only plan to shoot until the first week of July, and in the fall/winter we are busy with all the fall big game hunts.
