There a #idaho under the video so I believe it is!

yup, too many wolves and that guy is doing something about it.
I don't care they're pups, they need managed per IDFG they're over their population objective and need culled back.

Did I miss something, I thought one ran to the left, I did not see him hit that one :dunno:
I can imagine how cool a four wolf full mount set would be!
Sure expensive, but Da&@!

He stood up and got the one that squirted off to the left, then did the coup de grâce on the one biting his sibling.
-
Wow, 4 for 5, gives you an idea of litter size and why the population growth rate is so high
-
Hit the wolf jack pot .👍

Hope that’s Idaho
Hell no, I hope it's from wa but says Idaho!!

Yeah, the Alaska stuff I didn't really have an interest for either. Their Sister Tana moved up there when her husband became a bush pilot, flying a Piper Cub into some pretty remote stuff. So they kind of let the channel go to her for a bit it seems. The older brother Travis has his own construction company, and doesn't get on camera as much anymore. The youngest brother Tom has pretty much taken the ball and ran with it. I am glad they are out killing as many wolves as they can in that area. Because that means less wolves that can enter in to WA. :)

Nice video, wish it was WA, maybe someday.

That's a pretty cool video. Does anyone know why the third wolf started biting the second one after the second one got shot and before the third one got shot? Is that just a predator chaos/frenzy reaction? Really cool either way. And also gotta say the dude has some serious stones for calling in an entire wolf pack that close, even if he has a thunder stick.
-
Ya, cause it got shot, and it hurt, and he though his brother did it.
That shot hit them both

I know I am in the extreme minority on this issue, but I think we are fooling ourselves if we think these sorts of videos on the open web do anything positive for the image of hunting and hunters.
And yes, our image matters a hell of a lot when there are so many people who are not anti-hunting but who do not hunt and may be undecided about what they think of hunting. If they see this kind of video, just imagine the temptation to tilt toward the anti-hunting crowd? In other words, I am suggesting that the anti-hunters are not the ones to worry about in these instances--it's the people who are not against hunting, per se, but could become so. I realize this "trope" has been discussed and debated here a million times, I just had to chime in with an alternative view to all of the cheers and celebratory posts in this thread.
It's one thing for PETA and similar organizations to post videos of wild animals being shot; it's quite another for hunters to do it.
Again, I know to some of you wolves = evil, so it probably doesn't matter to you. But I think these sorts of kill videos do a disservice to hunters of all stripes. I support the hunting of wolves as a wildlife management tool, by the way. I'm not by any means suggesting people shouldn't be able to hunt wolves if they are following the established laws.

I can agree to a couple of your points, but the projection is off putting.
Calling a wolf "evil" is just anthropomorphism, something Disney has made a ton of money doing.
I think most real hunters aren't seeing wolves as "good" or "evil", but as animals doing what animals do.
-
I understand some of your points. Wolves can be part of a healthy eco system but the numbers they are allowed to get to often is way more then the ungulate population can handle and it starts to really to pull the herds down. Legal hunting like this video does just as much damage to hunters as any type of hunting that is viewed. Hunters are viewed the way they are by people who often to do understand why hunting is important. Management is what needs to happen and that’s what Idaho is doing with wolves. Most anti hunters don’t care about management they strictly want all hunting to stop. No matter the animal hunted.
So while I respect your opinion I do not agree that a video of legal hunting does any more harm then a video of a deer hunt or some anti hunter seeing a set of horns in the back of a truck. We as hunters are the enemy and the evil ones and true anti hunters want all hunting stopped.
-
:yeah:
*If* there was a conversation going on I'd agree more about our image, but there isn't. All conversation has been shut down, there's no reaching out, there's no understanding the other side, there's no walking in another's shoes...
So meh - post dead wolf pics!
-
Wild video. Pretty cool hunt and I feel as tastefully done as any hunting show. There is no disrespect shown to the animals and it’s a legal hunt. Can’t ask for much more imo.
-
I've had coyote pups come in like that, trotting along playing with each other and no clue once the shooting starts! Great video.
-
That was a great video. Way to get it done. Thanks for sharing.
