Howl For Wildlife
Their Mission:
Our goal is to provide you with the simplest, most efficient tools to take action on legislative issues that pose a threat to wildlife conservation. Furthermore Howl For Wildlife will provide you with the resources to get involved with local events, like how to effectively make your voice heard at wildlife commission meetings, and how to get PRO wildlife management laws onto the books, just to name a few.

Who are they? Board of directors? Bylaws? Leaders?

Kinda hard to figure out which side of the fence they are on. According to the fine print at the bottom of the page..... "Howl For Wildlife is a non-profit corporation originating in California and borne out of its grassroots effort to quickly end S.B. 252, a bill that could have further devastated ungulate populations and removed all black bear management in California."
So as far as I understand, they were fighting against this bill, which would have ended bear hunting in California, which would seem that they are pro hunting?

On another page.....
Science based wildlife management is under attack in Arizona. Comments opposing the legal management of Mt. Lion, Bear and Bobcat have been submitted to the Arizona Game & Fish Dept, effectively laying the foundation during the open comment period for AZGFD rulemaking to get these hunts banned.
If left unchecked they will succeed in not only getting these hunts removed but:
Destroying the ungulate population in AZ.
Setting precedence to have it banned in other states.
Removing an important source of revenue for wildlife management.
Please don’t allow these organizations to ruin the Arizona deer and elk herd and don’t let your fellow conservationist stand alone to fight for what they love. Take action and HOWL For Wildlife!

I participated in all of the issues they have listed on their page. They are pro-hunting.

They're fighting a bill in CO that would end lion and bobcat hunting

This is the week to FLOOD the wdfw commission with emails and calls regarding the petitions and reinstating spring bear.
Get active and send an email. The link to Howl in this thread makes it extremely simple to do.

BUMP!
This group is 100% Pro-Hunting. I have done my research on them and IMO they are the single MOST POWERFUL tool for fighting anti-hunting this country has seen.
The guy who created the site paid for it with his own $ and is a bear hunter from CA. He got tired of watching anti-hunting groups organize through these ver same types of sites then flooding lawmakers with public pressures to push their agendas.
HOWL has been set up to send randomized emails directly to the legislative law makers for each bill they have posted. You can also personalize the letter but each time you send a “Howl” the site is able to send personalized emails to every decision maker on a particular subject. This has been EXTREMELY effective so far. It’s unfortunate they didn’t have a Howl set up for WA spring bear issue but the anti hunting groups sure did. I actually went onto the anti’s site and clicked a button that allowed me to email all of the Commissions at a single time. I did this because I was not aware of HOWL yet. Of course I changed my email so they understood I was pro-science based and pro spring bear.
The anti-hunting crowd has been on this type of technology for some time and HOWL really is the first of its kind for pro-science based / hunting / fishing / conservation.
The guy who started the site was on Eastmans Elevated podcast with Brian Barney. Just search for it in the podcasts app on your iPhone. I joined the HOWL website and I would highly recommend we all take a close look and, if you care about making a difference, join as well. It is free to join.
I think this website/technology should be shared with as many as possible. It would be amazing to see this powerful tool in as many outdoors peoples hands as possible.

I like how they have helped with hunters cause all over. I am a contributor. :twocents:

I’m in contact with the co owner Charles and just did a podcast with John Stallone who is also involved in Howl.
Despite the wolf reference, they’re 100% for hunting and doing quiet a lot with more on the way.

Couldn't find it in researching, but would like to know if they are solidly for the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation. There seem to be more and more voices who feel the model isn't working and are subtly pushing a system more in accordance with the European model. Not accusing at all, but would like to know where they stand.

From what I have gathered in listening to the founders on several podcasts is they are huge advocates for the North American Model of Wildlife Conservation. This platform is the real deal. They just helped to approved Hunter Ed as an optional class in CO public schools for 7th graders. I think that is just amazing. Such a good sign to see a pro-active hunting platform. It seems like everything/anything we can do is always reactionary to anti-hunting groups. By the time the hunting community rallies we are already behind the 8 ball.
Howl breaks down the state lines making it so easy to support sportsmen and women in other states who are seeing anti-hunting pressure.
I sent out a Howl for the CO initiative and received emails back from the legislative folks who were in charge of the bill

All this defense fighting bad hunting bills and laws, time to go on offense!! There are some states where hunting is a Right not a privilege. This is something we need. Then maybe some laws we can get established through pro hunting reps to sponsor good bills. Like something for anti hunters being on the Commission being illegal and Unconstitutional. Robust game populations (bears…) hunting seasons shall not be infringed and required to maintain balanced ecosystem.
-
I believe I read from someone on here that one of the orgs like WWF or HHC are working with a supportive legislator on drafting a "Right to Hunt And Fish" bill...

You must be thinking of WWC.... WWF is the Anti hunting coalition. Lots of shorthand abbreviations and ample opportunity to fat finger a wrong respponce.

Its all in the controlling mind set of a states agendas. Its quite simple to revoke some ones state granted "privilege" vs. revoking their "rights".

I belive we will need to target some legislators that are up for election in order to turn this tide. If I'm not mistaken all house reps are up and a bunch of senators are.
