Being pretty new to elk hunting I was wondering what some of you guys think would be the ultimate elk tag here in washington. Either side of the mountains any weapon what would be your first choices for elk numbers and trophy potential no matter how bad the draw odds are.
-
Westside muzzleloader.
-
Actually, no. I take that back. The westside archery tag would be the ultimate tag. I just choose to hunt muzzleloader because I have a bad shoulder and shooting a bow doesn't help it any.
-
The eastside elk auction tag, aka. "the governors tag" Doesn't get anymore ultimate than that!!!

I guess thats true.... I was more thinking special draw hunts but your ahead of me on that one ;)

i think more of the raffle tag than the auction tag..so i will say eastside elk raffle tag. $5 to win it....not $70k.
i think your worst draw odds are probably in the blues...this year i will guess it will be any of the new rifle rut hunts down there.
:dunno:

Margret Bull tag........... :o

Margret Bull tag........... :o
Ok that was funny :chuckle:

The coweeman cow tag is highly sought after... Not my ultimate tag but someone elses... :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
I'll take a Utah elk tag in my back pocket here in Washington. :)
-
green river you know up past the water shed big critters up there i was working up there during the rut last year had two elk a 7x7 and a 6x6 bugling at each other across the road it was awsome talk about morning wood lol

Unit 201, Colorado, described to me by a guide one time as the Holy Grail of elk hunting in the world. This is my 18th year putting in and still won't draw. Here in WA? The eastside raffle tag or the new Peaches Ridge B then Peaches Ridge A, IMO.

Bowtech721,
Marry an indian.....then you can hunt anywhere and not worry about a WDFW elk permit.
-
201 is overrated if its taking 18+ years to draw :twocents:

Did that and its not what you think. I do like the healthcare advantages though.. :chuckle: :chuckle:

I don't know, but I hope I draw it. :chuckle:

A liberal tag in king county GMU!
-
Eastside raffle...
-
Does anyone know why they changed the dates for the Margaret early archery bull?
-
The Ultimate Elk Tag would be the one you could actually draw! I see big elk runnin everywhere, but it doesn't matter because I'm chasing a 1 x 1.
-
Washington tags are all over-the-counter. Special permits are drawn! :P
-
bozeman, mt would fit the bill for me just outside the big yellow :hunter:
-
cant say because the it would be that much harder to draw
