Curious if anyone has seen or had any luck with Chukars in the Cle Elum/Teanway area or basically any place west of Ellensburg. Trying to identify the nearest places to scout for chukar (and I guess grouse/quail) to North Bend for next season. any suggestions would be helpful! Not looking for any secret spots, just general locations on a map.

In the areas you've listed, there are hardy any chukar, the grouse population is abysmally low and quail only hang out on private or the shoulder of the highway. Its not a great place to bird hunt anymore

What he said. :yeah:

North along breaks of Columbia will be your best bet.

I’m not a bird hunter but if I was I would not hunt in the above mentioned areas. You need to be East of Ellensburg to get into a good amount of birds

Correction:
‘Some’ birds.
They have been declining where we used to go in EWa to the point my wife and I quit hunting there in hopes we would see more birds at a later point.
Stopped going ‘at all’ after dropping in to take a look a few years later and seeing a non stop procession of road hunters driving through the area, driving where they were not supposed to, and garbage.
Humans are awesome. Or not.
