This hunt, to end the season, was great! Hunted with my oldest granddaughter. We didn’t take a dog out today (too old and retired). FYI, I absolutely love watching and working/handling a good dog! Rather watch that than shoot! Just to get the number thing out of the way…we got 5. We really could’ve shot a lot more….if we were “on point and anal 30-40 would not surprise me. We spent a lot of time yakking about horses (19 y/o and she’s horse crazy 😁) and eating. Cooking grilled cheese sandwiches was the main food. My focus this day was 1) fun, 2) food, 3) teach and 4) a fat mallard drake. The fun, food, teaching and fat mallard drake goals were achieved. We set alarm to end hunt on phone at noon. Another fat mallard came in at our closing, I shot him, he plopped in the water at 10yds from blind. As soon as he plopped in the water the alarm went off! Goodbye 21/22 season! I’m happy! 25 minutes later I was at the house taking a hot shower. Life can be so good!

Nice job! It doesn’t get much better than that. Sounds like you had the day planned out perfectly.
