Does anyone have a really good grinder that is less than $300?
STX International anyone? Seem powerful enough, a decent price, and reasonably good reviews, about 4.4/5.
Super Handy brand? Someone has a used one for $200.
I've been using a vintage Kitchenaid grinder head for 40 years and it has worked well, but would like to scale up a little bit. I don't really need it as a sausage stuffer as I have one of them already.
Thanks

I have the STX Turboforce 3000. Been using it for years at it's a beast, done many deer and elk no problems whatsoever.
-
I was in the same boat, running an elk through a Kitchenaid makes for a long day.
I was just helping my brother find one and I didn't see anything under $350-400 that I would buy unless you can score a deal on a used one.
Or, roll the dice with an off brand, but they seem to be not that much cheaper. Check the weight, that usually shows the ones dramatically misrepresenting the hp. I would go min. of legit 1/2 hp, probably would go 3/4 if I had it to do again.

I've owned this one for 11 or 12 years. It has served me well:

I have a #22 Costway commercial grinder that will grind faster than you can feed. Less than $300. Heavy also.
There are many around almost all china made.

Bought the STX Megaforce, so far happy with it after grinding 20# of buffalo.

We bought the cabelas commercial. Honestly I was impressed. We grind about #10 a week and so far it’s eaten everything we’ve thrown at it.

Buy once cry once....
Long days on the grind take a lot of fun out of the process.

I second that, bought one this season and it work’s amazing! Speeds up the process significantly and it will handle anything you throw at it.

Your not gunna get much in that price range, gunna have to pry that wallet open a little farther :chuckle:
-
I’d save more and start looking in that $600 range.
-
I bought this one and have been quite pleased. It almost feeds itself.

The reviews on the Amazon grinders are pretty good for the most part. The bad reviews all seem to have the same issues.
You guys that have them and like them are those people just not using the machine right or...?

I lucked out horribly a few years ago on CL. Came across the Cabela's 1 1/2 horse #32 used once, still had the box and everything for $250!! :IBCOOL: I love the damn thing but it is heavy! I ended up getting the foot pedal which is a nice addition.

Have the 1.5 MEAT, as suggested buy once cry once, the tears will be of joy.

I got the same one
It’s seen several cows, steer, a dozen hogs at least, a bear, numerous deer, wheel barrow loads of tomatoes with the attachment
Still like brand new
