Where does this bill "take away most firearms from lawful gun owners" and "make standard firearms illegal"?

I'm against the bill, and have done my duty diligently against this bill, but am I missing something?

Sorry but your statement is flat out wrong. SB 5078 bans the sale or importation of large capacity magazines. It doesn't "takes away most firearms from lawful gun owners. Senate Bill 5078 makes standard firearms ILLEGAL."

Not sure what company sent out this mass text, but a friend sent me the text yesterday too. It ain't Lucky's words. Not fond of the manipulation of the wording from whoever sent it out.

Agreed. If anything it makes those who makes comments towards legislators about "making standard guns illegal" look like an idiot since the bill has nothing do with the actual firearm.

OP,

Please do not disseminate false information.  Law abiding citizens already have a hard enough time defending their individual rights with hostile anti-2A Democrat majorities in the House and Senate without having to dispel falsehoods.

If possible, please amend your post to more accurately state the true consequences of this proposed legislation.

Thank you.

Allen

Yep. I guess I am an idiot. I knew the hearing was about the proposed “high capacity “ mag ban and put it in the thread title. I neglected to correct the verbiage in the text I received. My bad.

Anyone know where we can find the for and against on the state data? He mentioned something about CSI in the meeting about a different bill wondering if it’s available for 5071

Wouldn't the consequences be that not only can you not purchase a replacement or extra magazine, but the sale of a gun with its STANDARD magazine would be prohibited? Guns with no magazine are pretty much useless....

They would just sell them with 10rd mags. If you purchased a larger cap mag out of state that would make the firearm illegal. According to the bill you need a dated picture with all your large cap mags to prove those mags are “grandfathered” in.

It doesn't make the firearm illegal per se.  There is nothing to prevent you from purchasing a magazine out of state. The problem would be legally importing it if the Democrats succeed in infringing upon your individual rights. The imported magazine and/or parts would be deemed illegal.  Also, they removed the dated picture via amendment.

I certainly hope this is the case and the legislators get the message from the people

Can't understand why people keep voting for these politicians that continually attack the constitution.  Same bs, different year.  They do it year after year, they won't give up.
