That time of year again boys and girls. I’ve been trading Wingbone Yelpers in exchange for the wing primaries for quite a few years now. Hunters send me the entire wings, or the bones and primaries, and I build them a personalized wingbone call. I use the feathers to fletch wood arrows I build for people. PM me if you have wings you’d like to exchange.

Arrows I build...
-
Man those are works of art.
-
The personalized wingBone callers he sends back are AWESOME!!!!!
He sent back custom ones for my 3 sons and I over the years. They are absolute treasures.
-
Any photos of the yelpers.

He also put my son's names and the date of the turkey kill on them.
I warned my kids not to misplace them, as I just think they are supercool.
-
I’m gunna do that this year!
-
Count me in! 253sg

Always mean to fo this and always forget. Maybe I'll remember this year.
-
Very solid deal! We have our fair share of these yelpers and they flat out work!
-
Thanks guys, glad you enjoy them and appreciate them.
-
Serious work of arts.
-
I'll keep you in mind, if I can actually kill one this year. I'll keep and send all the wings our party harvests.
-
These are awesome. I will definitely send you some! True craftsmanship, taking something typically discarded and making something useful and beautiful.
-
Love those red and white arrows
-
I love mine!(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20220412/badd104e284d06dda939498c97b8fefb.jpg)

Where do we drop the wings off at?

Anything special we need to do to wings other tha protect feathers?

Where do we drop the wings off at?
Most the guys just mail them to me. Its cheaper to remove the bones from the wings and snip off the primaries.
Just PM me and I'll give you my mailing address. Be sure to include the name for the wingbone and the return address when sending them.
Thanks, Ron

I think I replied to your PM didn't I?
-
Just to make it easier I'll put my address in the thread. Be sure to include the name for the call and the return address when you send the wings or bones and feathers.

I’ve got a couple birds for ya, pm sent

Do you prefer right or left wing feathers? Or doesn't matter? Thanks

I use both wings. Some people want left wing fletch and some prefer right wing fletch.
Thanks, Ron

DM sent - would be very eager for this as I got my first bird ever last weekend. Probably did an amateurish job cutting the wings so would like advice on how best to prepare for shipment.
-
For one birds primaries, you could simply wrap the 10-14 feathers with a paper towel and shove em in a manilla envelope and ship em off to Ron. I've shipped as many as 20 birds primaries to Ron in one of those white priority mail envelopes.
-
Been having computer issues, and logging in with my phone was a headache because of a ancient email address...hopefully I've resolved everything.
If for some reason I don't reply promptly, my cell # 503-504-5831 works to text for info.
Here's my mailing address again...

Awesome bird! I think I'll pass on them unless you want a wingbone call made. Looks like the secondaries have some nice mottling for flytying purposes.
-
I bet two regular feathers for vanes. and a black feather for the cock feather would be awesome. I know where you could sell a dozen at least!!

Hey guys, just wanted to let you know that I'm just now starting the wingbones. Have over 30-35 so far and I think there's some arriving this week.
Be patient, I'll be cranking them out ASAP.
Thanks, Ron :hello:

I completely forgot about this after I froze my wings. Do you still want more?
-
I also haven't sent mine. Have the wing bones in the freezer and feathers cut for two birds for you. I figured with everyone hunting a few late ones wouldn't hurt but let me know if you're done for the season.

Might be a few more days before I get started with the wingbones, my wife and I both came down with covid this week.
Thanks, Ron
-
Just received mine - it is absolutely beautiful, a work of art that will be in my family for decades. This is from my first turkey, so it's extra special to me! Thanks Ron!

The feathers, yes. The bones might be really hard to clean. The marrow turns to glue when frozen for a year.

Super cool idea!

I sent you a message. I’ve got a couple sets ready to ship if your wanting some more.

@Tree Killer

Wow, where has the year gone? Turkey season is upon us boys and girls.
I've been super busy building arrows the last several months, so using LOTS of wild turkey primaries. If anybody wants a personalized wingbone yelper in exchange for your feathers, just go to the first page and you'll see what I need for the wingbone call. Thanks!
-
Don't pass on this offer.
I think I've sent feathers the last 5 years.
He makes some really nice stuff.

im sure i will have a "shoe box" full Ron... if you have extra bones this year i will take me off your hands!
