Eat sleep and breathe hunting. Elk,Deer,Bear,Moose,Cougar,Yotes, small game, waterfowl, upland, turkey,Morels,(hopefully a Bighorn and wolf some day)
The one local critter that I have never had an interest in pursuing is a Mountain goat, they just don't do anything for me, Isn't that weird? :chuckle:
Anybody else have a critter they do not want to hunt?
PS, Circus type animals don't work for me either, :chuckle: Elephants, zebra, lions, tigers. :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
No interest in mountain goat!!! You sir are a sick man. That’s my last bucket list animal to hunt
-
No interest in sheep or goats.
-
No interest in sheep or goats.
Hunting or sex? :chuckle:
They seem out of reach for me so I don't have much interest.
-
Turkey doesn't do anything for me, but I love taking the kiddos out.
Sheep and goat has no appeal, I know I'm not getting drawn anyways.
-
Thats funny :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle: Cougartail
-
Continental US. . probably antelope... just never been interested.

Both! :chuckle:

I would do speed goat, but it'd have to be archery and ambush. I think it would be a lot more edible if it hasn't been running hard. Last speed goat I had was a buddy who shot a relaxed one, and it was as good as any mule deer I've ate.
-
Brown bear/ Grizz just doesn’t do it for me. Along with pretty much everything Africa. Other than that I can’t think of something I wouldn’t want to pursue!
-
Love how diverse we all are. I would gladly give up elk hunting for another chance at a Mountain Goat (and can't tell you how addicted I am to wapiti!). We are all motivated by very different drives in our passion of hunting. Awesome that we are all different and bring different perspectives to the table. Embrace our differences. (And thank you for not putting in for Mt Goat... I hear it is really steep and rough country)

Sacrilege!

Grew up in Wyoming and Antelope has never been a thing for me. The only african animal would be a Kudo and locally the only animal I have no desire to hunt would be duck/geese. :dunno:
-
No real desire for anything from Africa. In the US I guess I would say antelope don’t do much for me.
-
I must be the odd one then……
I love the hunt! Doesn’t matter what, the hunt is what I was designed to do. I honestly believe we were put here on earth to hunt. Of course Mule Deer, elk, blacktail, white tail, grouse, etc…. also taste great as well.
A nice rack is an added benefit but not necessarily the end all.
When I was young we use to spot and stalk frogs and birds with our Crossman 760s. We shot some booners I swear!
:chuckle:
-
Have to say no real interest anymore in barnyard vultures otherwise known as turkeys, consider them about like I do crabs, a lot of effort for so little edible meat.
-
I would sell my OIL ram/goat points if wdfw would allow it. Even if it exempt me going forward. Its not that I'm not interested in the hunts they are just more of a novelty than anything. I'm not trying to get any sheep slams or book animals. I would not go on one of those hunts out of pocket. Only in a draw. I would like to eat a moose though, if it was clean.

That's why you take the wife or the internet with ya bro. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
If your paying for gas and gas station, breakfast, lunch, dinner,
I'll pull the trigger on any legal animal.

Been on a sheep and it was really fun but I don’t think I need to kill one. Turkey’s if not within 30 minutes of my house, or open whole hunting something else already there I would never hunt them.
Grizzly/Kodiak bears are off the table unless in a survival situation.
-
No interest in antelope as far as this country goes. And kudu is it for Africa, I really don’t get why people hunt elephants, they are just too cool. Won’t vote against or donate money to stop it, but no way I could kill an elephant.
-
I didn't enjoy turkey hunting so I doubt more of that is in my future. I've been drawn for goat before it was OIL and I don't feel a need to hunt them again and I'm not really interested in killing bears even though I have and will again if I have a problem bear that I can't scare away from the fruit trees with a little hazing. No African hunts for me either.
-
Seems like Africa is the trend. And I must agree, don't really care in that area.
-
I wouldn't predator call in Africa like I do here for sure, but man that'd be hella fun...no idea what might come in!
Light up a rabbit distress in the middle of the night??
-
I was reading thinking there is nothing I would not want to hunt. Did Africa once and it was awesome. I could only think of 1 animal I wouldn’t hunt and that’s a giraffe. Not that I really like them they just seemed kinda clueless and almost defenseless when I was there. I have no idea if they are always like that , maybe I just ran into a few really stupid ones ha ha. That’s it I would only not want to hunt a giraffe everything else is fair game.

Oh the young days, Birds and Lizards were our go to targets. Those fence lizards basking in the sun were hard targets for the Daisy BB guns :)

Turkeys man…not even an inkling of excitement. Did the whole set up and call em in thing when I was in high school and it was about as thrilling as going to the DMV. I treat em like winged rats, my only use for em is that it’s quite entertaining to watch a blue heeler run into a flock of them and come back with a mouthful of feathers.
-
Turkey dont even come close to floating my boat. When you are surrounded by them the concept of challenge goes away.

Cougar hunting....In my 20s cougar hunting was all the rage and there were some successful hunts. But now that I am older and the Cougars have gotten older also I have given it up.

How about Bandtail pigeons?
They were some of my first hunts as a kid. They were a lot of fun and provided some great wing-shooting. Pigeon season was one of the highlights of our hunting year.
Then some of our hunting spots got closed down. Populations were dipping and seasons were getting restricted. Then I learned they mate for life and have one chick at a time. I simply had no desire to ever shoot another Bandtail.

Some of you need to expand your horizons, Antelope is one of the most enjoyable hunts in the lower 48, and it can be what you make of it. Tags are fairly readily available, the animals are plentiful and they are surprisingly beautiful animals. They’re also tasty

I seriously doubt I’ll ever shoot another turkey. I don’t really like eating birds of any kind.
-
I’m the exact opposite. If I had to choose one hunt to go on it would be a goat hunt here in Washington. Maybe it’s something to do with being in goat country most of the summer and watching them. The country they live in makes it that much better. I’ve always been fascinated by them, maybe one day I’ll get to hunt them.
