Title: 10MM Rock Island vs Glock
Post by: RB on May 03, 2022, 06:09:44 PM: As the title states which 10MM would you purchase? Looking at Glock and Rock Island, what else is good in 10MM? I love Kimber, but it seems a bit much compared to these two. Thoughts?

I'm a Glock fan, and still want the Rock Island.

Post by: Bareback on May 03, 2022, 06:50:56 PM: Personally I would like both. I have a G20 and it’s my all conditions I don’t care about gun. I did put a match grade barrel on it to alleviate the glock bulge. If you don’t rebarrel you’ll only get two reloads.

I’m hard on stuff and figured it would be too fancy to go with a kimber or rock island. That being said, I went with a g20

But that is a personal preference. Shoot as many as you can and find the one you prefer. :tup:

I love my Kimber Special II in .45. Kimber makes exceptional pistols.

Not to thread jack but this is the direction I’m thinking of going. I’m looking for a high cap 10 and that leaves m&p, glock, and rock island. The glock is to wide for my hand so it’s ruled out which I’m disappointed as I was looking forward to a battle tested firearm. Have you shot it yet? How’s the recoil? The medium grip is a bit to deep but thinking the small swell will work great.

Post by: actionshooter on May 03, 2022, 09:18:44 PM: I own both... and not being a Glock fanboy at all.... AND a huge 1911/2011 fan.... For self-defense, I would 100% go with the glock (and I do) with 200gr hardcast at 1500fps, with an upgraded lone Wolf Barrel and recoil system. Just me..

I sent my slide out for machining to mount an RMR and am quite pleased with the setup. Springfield Armory has a nice offering that is competitive with the G29. It's already machined for an optic and is truly ambidextrous.

Owned RRA, preferred over Glock, have had Kimbers that shot very well and feel much better(personal preference) than any Glock, currently shooting Springfield TRP Longslide w/Trijicon RMR by far my favorite 10mm.

I only had 1 15-round mag and a couple 10 round mags for my G20.
I bought 3 more 15 rounders before it' too late.
I bought a crap ton of mags for the family.... We did a complete survey t make sure we got what we wanted while we could.
