Post by: mazama on May 13, 2009, 05:30:48 PM: How soon after May 20 can we expect draw results,Iam going to put in for my vacation after i find out of course if they do it twice again this year i will be out for blood.

:yeah: Thats why I am going there EVERYWEEKEND from now on. Cant wait to get OUT of Washington. Probablly wont buy any Tags from WDFW. I think I like Idaho now :chuckle: Maybe I will follow you somewhere in Mountain and learn about your serect spots. :rolleyes:

They seem to be doing pretty well this year. I get excited thinking that we may have results a month from now and I'll have my sheep tag. :IBCOOL:

Post by: shanevg on May 14, 2009, 07:43:52 AM: I think at Dave's Sports Shop in Lynden they have a sign that says "Warning, new application deadline: May 20" and then below that it says that results should be out by June 23 or something like that. But I'm going to guess a bit earlier, more like June 12 since they actually have been doing pretty good on the draws this year.

I suppose that you shouldn't be able to purchase a permit application after May 20th. You won't be able to get into the drawing if you try to put in after the 20th.

"This year’s application deadline is midnight May 20, nearly a month earlier than in past years. Permit winners will be selected by random drawing, with the results available by the end of June, said Dave Ware, game manager for the Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife (WDFW)."

And why all the chatter about it before the deadline? Wait until after the deadline to "remind" everyone and increase your chances of getting drawn.

Post by: WDFW-SUX on May 16, 2009, 11:44:34 AM: When you start thinking of every dick weed that buys a licence to go hunting with there brother in law and really has no interest in hunting or doesn't understand what the benefit's of the tag are and your sure to have a couple of wasted tags ever year with this type of thing. I bet some of the elk tags get filled on cows or never used. Im sure thats why none of us have ever heard of anyone with these tags until last year.
