Title: Bethel archery elk
Post by: Shank on June 14, 2022, 09:13:05 PM: Only took 12yrs to draw a tag, but I'll take it. I'm like a kid at Christmas time. So excited.
I've hunted the carol flats area modern and smoke pole since '84. Fingers crossed I can seal the deal

Post by: Fish4Fun on June 15, 2022, 06:40:31 AM: That is a good tag, there are some nice bulls in Bethel, I had the Quality rifle tag in 2016 and shot a great bull for that area. We have hunted 360 since the late 60's send me a PM for info if needed.

I heard they did well in the Oak Creek area.

I was up in the area for muzzy season last year.
Between the actual fire, and the back burns they were doing, it was a smokey ashy mess. Did however see a few cows.
We plan on heading over to the area in a few weeks to start scouting and begin planning.
Father in-law was up at clover springs a few days ago, said it burned pretty bad, but they were seeing tons of animals.

If I got that tag I think I’d look for a small plane pilot to rent for a few hours to look for choke points. The fires were blotchy not a full clean sweep.
