Post by: backwoods_boy on May 16, 2009, 07:48:00 PM
The new truck, pup, bro and my daughter went to get our first set of cam pics.  we had 80+ pics but mostly bunny rabbits and birds, however we did just miss this guy by two hours.
so how long till opening day again? :dunno:

180lbs would be my guess. Of course, he has a few months to bulk up too. Bears are hard to judge in real life, let alone pics... ;)

A shooter either way. A fine bear for sure.

Tell ya what, just let me know where he is, and I will weigh him for ya in August. :chuckle:

only one way to find out...

august 1st, you bag em and then you'll know. I have been known to be wrong on many occasions. Personally, I wouldnt even bother guessing weight if I saw him. It would be BOOM time~!

Nice bear and nice pis the camera thing is addicting. Mine are in WI right now doing some scouting for me for a December archery hunt! The only problem I see with your plan is that is a SOW look at the first color picture you can see her teets!! It also looks like she may be nursing her cubs they were just left in the den while she got lunch. Of course this is only my opinion but it looks alot like a sow to me.

Because there are soo many photos posted in this thread (why are they posted twice?) I only saw the first couple and luckily missed the nakedness. Not knowing the terrain and with nothing for real reference, I would say that it is 200+ and may be as much as 250. If it is not now, it will be later.

It does have a thick hide which will only add a few "real" lbs, but can add 20+ to a guess. :chuckle:
But look at the body, legs and neck. I think that is a good bear on a long lanky frame. :twocents:
