I have a buddy who is part of the WDFW rule setters ( don't know what you call them LOL) and told me yesterday we will be able to retain wild coho out of westport very soon. We will see :) He also said they likely won't close Kings up in Neah bay, I assume the bulk has passed anyways.

This is great news. Somebody up top has a lightbulb moment. We've been saying for years that responsible wild harvest will put more fish back in the rivers.

Just read the email. We can crack wild silvers. But, the way I read it, the quota has been reduced. Lame
-
A third of the quota in trade for bonking unclipped coho.hmmm, well see how this one ends up... :dunno:
-
Should be able to keep wild Coho in the straights and sound as well!!
-
Thats cool...hope we can fish them on an upcoming deep water ling trip. Not sure if we are going anywhere near the salmon on this deep water trip, but it would be cool to get a few coho to take home.

The coho are all over the deep water grounds.
Ratio has been about ten to one...so keeping mis clipped hatchery fish will help.
