I sometimes run into big fat rabbits around 3000-4000 feet. Are these hefty rabbits Nutall's Cottontail?
Do people hunt them? My kid wants to go squirrel and rabbit hunting I figured this might be our best shot at some kind of success.

St Helens and Adams. They don't look very athletic compared to flat land rabbits.

Snowshoes. The ones I've seen up there turn dark brown in the summer.

Got it. They are pretty dark brown when I run into them.
