Title: Recalling Bears
Post by: dlow on October 07, 2022, 10:56:46 PM
I was hunting this evening and was able to call a bear in to about 30 yards. It’s my first time successfully calling. It must’ve caught wind of me cause it turned and went back into the brush pretty quickly. It sounded like it may have been hanging out though cause the jays and squirrels where making a lot of noise in the same area.

So I have two questions. 1. If a bear spooks, what are the chances it would come back by keeping the call sequence going? 2. Is there any point in going back on a different day to recall the same bear or does it know what’s up now?

I've never called in a bear.
I'm gonna say depends on how hungry the bear is.

As for it coming back during the same calling sequence, I think that’d be pretty tough, depends how badly it spooked though, as for it coming back on another day, again, depends how badly it spooked, but I think there’s a much greater chance of getting it to come in, especially if you use a different call or at least call differently
