What are your hot weather mule deer hunting tactics. I was up at 6000’ Saturday to check my game camera. It was popcorn fart dry up there. Saw a few deer tracks but not much. Didn’t have much on my camera due to a bear tearing it up a little. Deep dark timber or river bottoms?

Deer around my place are quite scattered, but mostly around pockets of green -i.e. cultivated fields and higher pockets of grass around water. Coming out very late, except those using private, posted field's and heading ba.ck to cover very early. Last twenty minutes of daylight and first 10 minutes of morning daylight seems to be the movement pattern. Seeing a few that are just lying down in the high grass fields rather than heading to typical forest type cover. Gonna stay warm and dry for the first few days, road access won't be a problem, but taking care of any animals you get might be. Flys are still very thick and daytime highs will ruin meat if not properly taken care. Snakes are still out and active so watch where you step

Can't tell the plan
Bitting my tongue...
Or everybody might do it.
Just can't do it.

We always did well in hot weather by hiking in and just sitting in timber. You would be surprised how many nice mule deer bucks you can see that are just wandering around. Same goes for blacktails.

Well here we go down the rabbit hole.

Got it.
