Big bulls during deer season and big bucks during elk season just never fails.
-
That is always how it goes, usually I see a big blacktail the day after early season.

Every year

It's comforting to know I'm not alone.

Not just you dude. It's the story of my life...

If its not during the season, its the day after it closes, WHERE did you come from!!!??
-
Pretty sure they read the regs too.
When I lived in Montana, a bud that drew a Grizz permit. They were there for two weeks before the two day hunt. Same HUGE bear showed up in the same spot for nearly every day of the two days. Never gone for more than one day. Two days of the hunt? Nope. They went back the next day when it was closed, and yup, it was back.

Middle of west side Elk season, watched a nice big bodied three point Blacktail walk right through the middle of a clear cut, middle of the day, sniffing the ground like a dog. He stopped, looked at us, then dropped his head and kept sniffing and cruising through the unit looking for a hot Doe.

I would have to say 95% or more of the deer I've ever seen in the Little Naches were during elk season.
-
Lol, so glad i'm not the only one here, last year 5 legal bucks during opening weekend for Elk, just the other day deer hunting, a 6x6 bull and a 4x4 bull in the same clear cut.
-
Yeah our group could have filled our bull tags over opening weekend of deer season this year. The funny part is the elk herds knew we were there but didn't care.....go to that spot during elk season and you won't see or hear any elk (have tried multiple times).

Do u hunt deer and elk in the same area with the same methods???
