Headed up friday for week. Have 3 bucks (a 3 and fork and a spike) i saw in Oct. hopefully at least one evaded the other hunters. Weather will be the exact opposite. I plan to spend the week sitting in the rain and snow all day. Probably have to take a few slow walks to stay sane.I get butthurt sometimes from sitting to long. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:

Tried rattling for BT last year and recently saw some guys have success with fawn bleats/doe in estrus bleats for BT. Might give those a try.

last year during late rifle we had a forky standing at the end of an old logging road that would have been an easy kill for her (not guaranteed of course). Go figure I didn't get a tag for her since she wasn't showing much interest at the time. would have been a good way to start though... I had ML tag so it was his lucky day.

With the deer numbers as low as they are... I don’t think I’d leave anywhere to come try to find one in 121, blue tongue/ehd/ predators... low low low deer numbers. :twocents:

Yeah that if I was as on the wet side I’d be pushing the jungle for a black tail this year. Whiteys were crushed last year from Pomeroy to the Canadian border, not even counting predators which pick away at the rest of them that didn’t succumb to the diseases. Black tail are probably the only deer species in our state that aren’t in a dramatic population decline. Wish they never pulled the point restrictions on the north units.
