An antlered deer grazes on the edge of the woods in a frost covered field prior to hunting season 2021. Hundreds of whitetail deer were lost in Northeastern Washington that year due to Blue Tongue disease, the second outbreak since 2015. Hunters are worried that predator tolls and disease are reducing ungulate populations to the point of unsustainability.

(The Center Square) - The Northeast Washington Wildlife Group is concerned growing wolf and cougar populations in Northeastern Washington are decimating deer, elk and moose herds.
“We have a predator problem, and it continues to get worse with each passing year,” said Dale Magart, secretary of the nonprofit group that has written a position paper on the issue.

This is one example that proves writing letters and engaging dialogue in a politically correct manner (which the group has), just gets the entire issue blown off by the completely agenda driven commission and wdfw staff.

I am not suggesting that people resort to using Xylitol, I am merely pointing out how easy it is for people to resort to such effective tactics.
The WDFW should forget about politics and do their job, then individuals won't feel compelled to take matters into their own hands.

The only pushback I would give them is, it is not just the NE that has a predator problem. It is the entire State.
For those who are dinosaurs that have seen the changes with our own eyes over the past 20 -30 years in the Northeast this is far from a statewide problem YET. That is other than DFW management

The predator problem lies deep within WDFW. The folks managing some of our deer and elk (and wolves) are the anti’s. I believe the management is going just the way they want it to. The end game is to reduce or eliminate hunting. Few want to believe that. After working 24 yrs with some of these clowns, I saw it and heard it myself. The new wave of managers/Bios are very liberal with completely different views and goals. These folks have been indoctrinated by liberal professors at colleges. There is a US against them mentality and they think they own and need to conserve and protect game from US.Can you name names? I would push back on your blanket statement and say there are some excellent professionals left within the agency. I know you are sour but 24 years could definitely provide us with valuable insight.

Yes I can provide you with names. Of course there are a few good employees left. Kinda why I said some. Remember the good ones left are going to do whatever the state says, they have proven themselves of that with the jab. If the state says manage against your conviction they will do it in a heartbeat. Naming names isn’t a solution because you yourself can see the areas of mismanagement. Let me start with Region 1 district 1. My sourness has nothing to do with it. I have watch the bias for years. While employed, you really can’t go against the narrative.
