Title: Chop my barrel
Post by: Jimmy33 on November 03, 2022, 08:41:18 AM: Thinking of taking several inches off of my barrel. Does anybody have a good gun smith that they would recommend for such a job?

Post by: Buckjunkie on November 03, 2022, 08:44:11 AM: Don’t know where you are located, but I use Benchmark Barrels in Arlington or Brett Evans on So. Hill in Puyallup. Both do good work.

Post by: buckfvr on November 03, 2022, 09:12:28 AM: Id find as local a Smith as I could. That way you can poke your head in his door once in a while as a reminder hes got your rifle. Even a cut thread crown or even just cut crown could take them a while if theyre busy.

The range for sure. I’m in Yakima and have had the smith there cut crown and thread my barrel had it back within a week no problems. Nice guy with reasonable pricing. Have another rifle I will be having him lop a couple inc he was off of.
