How far away is your typical photo bone?

Looks like he's saying "Boy I'm Tired"

I aim for longbow range which is about 35-40 yards.

i was about 50 with the first one. I was using a doubler.  A decrease in photo quality but does help bring them closer.
The second i was at about 35.  I got a few frames before he woke up and then gone in a jump

There are artistic photos and there are documentation pics.   THe thread Regrets is an example of a documentation photo.   Some of it is for my benefit so I can blow it up and see what I am looking at. (viewfinders are oftly small), and to share with you all.   Most love it when I say I saw a big one tonight.  They are "yeah sure you did, pics or it didnt happen." :chuckle:    THat photo was about 300 yards but cropped to bring in the image.  Photo quality bites the dust.

Bone, I know you have posted that first buck a couple times.  What is your theory on his right antler with the drop of the main beam.

Injury in velvet.  Probably hooked it on a Sage bush or something.  The deer is a giant.  Like huge.  Hard to get a perspective

That's why I asked.  I keep looking at him and thinking he is a true giant.  I would say he did something in early growth but don't know what.

Bone, which of these would go home with you if you had to choose? Both have so many good qualities.

The first buck.  He is gigantic, an amazing animal.  It’s hard to tell, but it would be like Dwayne Johnson standing next to Kevin Hart.

It must be a very comfy bed!  :chuckle: It's amazing how you can get so close to these cagey giants, very impressive!

Two things that help, one is when they think they are hiding from me, and second is if they are just plain tired from chasing girls.   :chuckle:
