Title: Coyote hunting opportunity
Post by: EWUEAGLESHUNTER on November 27, 2022, 05:07:56 PM: Eastern Washington rancher looking for somebody really good at coyote hunting, with a license, to eliminate some coyotes prior to calving. Willing to pay $$$ per coyote. Don’t waste my time unless you are the real deal.

But you could get a lot more dogs if you got a local WCO to permit trap with footholds and knock the crap outta them in short order , I do that over here for several dairies as it’s much faster and get a lot more dogs that way

I'm pretty sure shooting coyotes for money isn't legal?

Not a professional.

If just hunting them ,I would let them start now and not wait till calves season.
Most likely they are breeding about now.
And having pups in the spring.
More females you can get rid of now,better spot you'll be later.

Coyote breeding season is whenever that female dog goes into heat.
I've seen pups in March before.
Anytime after the first of the year.
Like said knock down females now.

So .....
If I see pups in March that look a few weeks old.
Hanging around a culvert or den.
That would put the breeding season when. :dunno:

I'll tell ya what I believe.
If they have there pups too early,they eat them.
No point in a argument.
They breed after Jan 1 .
If your trying to control a population of anything,you target females,breeding season,or time of year is mute.
With coyotes shoot them all ,and hope more females get taken.

Post by: buckfvr on November 28, 2022, 10:10:00 AM: Idea here, JC Steel targets in Cheney sponsors a couple long range shoots in the Rock Lake area each spring and I know there is a LR community of shooters in the greater Spokane and south area who you could probably seek out for skilled shooters. Hard for anyone to dedicate enough time on site to beat down a bunch of yotes in a small-time frame, but I'd bet you could find enough serious shooters from down that way who you could schedule on site so as not to overlap anyone's efforts. Can't have guys in there that educate the dogs by missing. One shot one kill takes its toll on yotes. Long Range capable shooter and equipment during daylight can produce. I find in daylight 400+ yards gets me the most opportunity at yotes going about their business without being on full alert.

May find a serious shooter or two at the Grange also.
