I had quite a few issues this year with my inreach. I have the in reach explorer+. Main issue is that it will not send messages successfully to my wife’s phone which is the main reason I have it. Is this an issue with the phone provider possibly screening the number as spam? We recently switched her phone service to xfinity.
I also responded to a friends message on it after having multiple texts back and forth with this person. My dad who I was with, received my response. I had not had these issues in previous seasons.
Also, sometimes messages show up for example, as unknown 210, and sometimes from that same sender, will Show up as their name appears in my contact list.
Any input? Thank you

I would contact customer service. I have never had a issue five years now. They may be able to sort it out for you.
Good luck

Have you updated the software recently? Last time I was having issues with my inreach that's what they had me do.
-
If you haven't already, I'd update it. I've known a lot of people that had issues and once updated they were fixed. If you've done that already than I'd contact Garmin.

I had issues using my inreach. Quite a bit actually. I got tired of it and switched to the zoleo. I like it way better. Messages send and receive very quickly.
-
Appreciate the feedback, hoping it is something that can be resolved. I have done the update with unfortunately no luck. May need to try again, then call customer support.

I have given up on any kind of reliable messaging with that thing. I just carry it sometimes assuming the SOS feature will work if needed.

I would highly recommend selling the inreach and put the money towards a Zoleo. They can be picked often times on sale for $150. I've owned several inreach's and the best thing I ever did was send em down the road. :twocents:

I set my inreach to text and email my wife in case one doesn't go through, it seems there was an issue with messages going to one service provider a year or so ago.

I once had an issue where iPhone users would not receive my messages if the option to send your location with each message was enabled, but at the same time it worked for Android users (kept trying people because I was concerned about things at home). I just turned it off and now turn the tracking on/off depending on the trip.

I send messages to my wife's iphone and e-mail and I have never not had a message go through to both. I've had it for 5 years or so.
