I hooked up one of your calls to an air horn.. :chuckle:
-
If you would quit using that Gay pink call, you might get a real bruin to show up.... air horn?? :chuckle: you really are after a Gay Bear :chuckle: :chuckle:
You're not out there for the Hunting....
-
i talked to one guy that shot one down low, bout 225# he said but i didnt see it, ive heard of one other
-
There are so many bears in there its not even funny. To bad you didn't get a tag RR. It would of been a pretty easy hunt for your first bear.
-
I only know of one so far taken out of Kapowsin. I am sure more have been taken though.

yes there's a good amount of bears in there but i couldn't disagree more about a "easy" hunt, have you actually hunted bear in there?

Yea I have hunted bears in there. I took my buddy in last year on the spring hunt, and he got a 6' bear. Not big but decent. We went back to the same place on the regular opener and he shot another, this time a sow. My other buddy shot a bear 500 yards from where we killed the other two, the second day of regular, and it was 6'6". I saw 2 bears opening day of modern, two more a couple days later. Only saw 9 bears in there last year but I didn't go in that much. That was just last year.
I wouldn't waste my time trying to call bears. Imho I think it is more effective to use binos.

[/quote]yeah calling bears to within 10 to 30 feet is a waste of time, spotting one a few hundred yrds out and shooting it is much more rewarding, you don't have to worry about the Adrenalin rushing through out your body.or the actual skill and time put in for such an effort being as rewarding as as poking one way out there..besides I like wasting my time.maybe someday I can be a legend in my own mind

Why don't you think before you post or at least know what you are talking about?

i'm not going to post for awhile dont need this at this time. just took a beating last week. my heart cant take much more. i'm out of here. Rick

A waste as in it is easier to kill a beer if you use binos. I think calling is not as effective as spot and stalk. I'm sure you are using a longbow also since you want it to be so rewarding and to take all this skill?

Lol. I am sure I know 100 times more about hunting bears in Hancock then you do. I can't believe you even posted on this thread. When was the last time you hunted Hancock? The spring hunt is a gimme if you want to kill a bear. You spend a couple of evenings in there in a decent spot and you will see a bear or four.
-
So if you are so good at hunting bears lets see some pics!! Start another thread with all your kills.
Brandon

he doesn't have any pics.
they're all on a different computer.

No Ridgerunner, I have not. Of course, about the only place I would hear about it, would be on here.... :chuckle: :chuckle:
-
ridge runner two bears out since last time I spoke with clyde..both average size..shot down low.

I can't believe we still allow you to post here...I guess we enjoy watching you make an ass of yourself.
Maybe you know Hankcock better then I do, but having checked the harvest reports and talked to dozens of hunters since the westside spring hunts have started, I can say that unit is not a slam dunk.
It is an easy unit to draw and many people don't hunt it, but yet we only see or hear of a couple bears killed every spring.
100 permits in 2006 and only 2 bears killed.
100 permits in 2007 and only 5 bears killed.
Now it is up to 150 permits and only a few killed a year is not a slam dunk in my book.
-
Having hunted hancock for the last 10 years I would say its not a slam dunk but probably closer to a lay up if you know what your doing. My buddies little brother has a tag this year and has already shot at a bear or two. If you know where to find their food supply have a good set of binos you could see multiple bears a night.

I'll second that. I would love to see some pics.
Should have plenty with all the bear littering the place an all.
-
Based on the talk - it sounds like he and his friends have filled the statistics BTKR posted. Weird one group making the whole unit's statistics...
I don't believe we will see any pictures...pictures are for people that know how to use a camera.....All he knows is bears...
-
I called in 32 bears this morning,I was wheezing so bad on the 32 bear, which would have gone 26 inches dry, I coughed and he ran off.I had to come out early the 26 mile hike out in this heat would have killed me..I'm gonna wear shoes tomarrow, and bring a bottle of water in case I get thirsty.I will have to stop by bearmanricks and pick up some calls..I wore out the ones I used today.btkr if you want to learn something about bears gimmie a call.... anyway now for some lies..I found alot of crapola today.and what looks like an area where some scrapping went on,tried blowing the calls but my allergies are kicking my but..good luck all of you..I just got done taking the claws off my last bear.wow talk about stink,I went with a shoulder mount instaed of full size,so got some wet hide and paws.
-
Anyone can make up statistics...75% of all people know that! :chuckle: :chuckle:

Lmao are you sure you dont know a bajillion trillion million times more than billy, cuz you sound pretty smart. argent little bas... i wont say it. from the little i know about billy ( dont know him personally) he's not the guy you want to get in a pissin match with about black bear hunting, bears seem to hit the dirt pretty regular around this guy. now why dont you go back to looking in the mirror or what ever it is you do
-
Kapowsin is a slam dunk :liar: please enlighten me with your knowledge. :hello: its far from a slam dunk :twocents:
-
Been missing this thread :( Sorry I stepped in :liar:

I will play...
Do you have a Kapowsin Hancock access permit? (This is an opportunity for you to back out with a good excuse) If you do have one, come with my son and I. You can show us all the bear and you can put us on one. Since there so many we should meet up this Saturday at the Kapowsin gate at 4:30 AM and you can put us on one.
Nothing like throwing down the challenge. :chuckle: :chuckle: :chuckle:
We will be up there anyway so it will not be a big deal to follow you around in the morning.
-
If this thread doesn't clean up I'm going to lock it or delete it, not too much good has come of it.
-
locked.

That is exactly what I came to do. To ask him to take, or to tell a tag holder where to go. But it is locked and we will never know what he knows.
